| Really Ugly Kids
Posted: 11/4/2009 5:28:52 AM | When you see a profile of someone and within their pics are really ugly children (and / or grandchildren), do you ponder “I wonder who s/he got together with to breed those?”
Do you follow on with a train of thought that maybe if their sense of aesthetics is so bad, they are not for you?
Or do you think, we all make mistakes; beer goggles are terrible things etc… or not have such thoughts at all? | |

Posted: 11/4/2009 5:34:38 AM | I was sitting at the back of a bus when a woman carrying a baby got on. The bus driver took one look and said ‘jeeze that’s an ugly baby get to the back of the bus’! The furious woman stomped down the aisle and sat opposite me. I leaned over and said ‘I wouldn’t let a bus driver talk to me like that’! ‘You’re right’ she said ‘I’m going to go up there and give him a piece of my mind’! I said to her ‘would you like me to hold the monkey’?

I don't see how that conclusion can be arrived at.
If a woman demonstrates that she is prepared to procreate with men who aren't good-looking, then it suggests to me that she is the sort of person who doesn't hold looks as being important. I consider such a woman to be a better person than one who DOES find them important.

Something can be pretty to look at but get boring after a while, I'm a true believer in beauty being skin deep and other factors playing a more important role. If i saw a stunning looking woman with an ugly child? I wouldnt even give it a second thought, I'd be busy wondering what I was having for dinner that evening or other more important things. | |

I dont and never have had any of the thoughts that you suggest.
If it were a profile, I would be looking at the person whose profile it was,
not judging the attractivness of those around them, child or adult. | |

Posted: 11/4/2009 6:56:40 AM | My sister was a frightfull looking baby, all squat faced ,constant stream of dribble, and lumpy looking. Now she is 17 and has grown into a beautifull young woman, she agrees she cant understand how such an ugly baby grew into her.
My kids are both stunning little munchkins perfect, white blond hair, massive sky blue eyes, rosy complexion, I tell ya my genes are good.
I would'nt dismiss someone cus of FUGLY kids, but if she eresembled her kids then I aint going there, thinking about it I have not seen many kids in profile pictures that I would call ugly. | |

Have you stopped to think for a moment people might think the same about your children ,
everybody thinks their own children are beautiful , but other people do not view them with the same loving eyes
People do not chose a person to have kids with on the strenghth of their looks .but because hopefully they love the person | |

Tidying up and sorting out this morning I found some photos of my kids when they were young. There's one of my youngest as an infant ; he had two teeth, bulgy eyes, big ears and made Pug from the Beano look relatively beautiful; it prompted the thread. | |

Posted: 11/4/2009 7:45:50 AM | What horrible thread. Looks are a genetic fluke, and calling a kid ugly is just vile. I don't think I've ever seen an 'ugly' child. I've seen quirky looking kids, I've seen faces full of character, but no, can't say I've seen an 'ugly' child. I wasn't a particularly attractive child - cute baby, sweet toddler, then I sort of mutated into something peculiar between the age of about 5 to 15. Jeez, isn't it bad enough the amount of 'judging on looks' that goes on without someone dragging a person's kids into it?

As long as someone isnt standing over them taking the rip and bashing their confidence then there is no harm in noticing that a chld is ugly.
My own daughter has the face of an angel until she starts gurning...then she is enough to scare the living daylights out of anyone,in fact we have a gurning daughter picture up at the window to scare off the bailiffs | |

Nope, not true at all, my mate has often said her daughter is a little bit ugly, she certainly wouldn't say she was beautiful and being truthful she isn't the most aesthetically pleasing child I've ever seen.
Some kids are ugly, there is no getting away from it (unless you run in the other direction) 
I of course think both my kids are very good looking boys, but one is waaaaaay better looking than the other, that may all change of course but the other one did look like Yoda when he was born so I'm not holding my breath.
Seeing kids pics on someones profile puts me off no matter what they look like, this is a dating site, if you get to know someone then let them see pics of your kids, until then keep them to yourself. | |
