| pale ale beer Posted: 11/4/2009 10:25:03 AM | I admit , I LOVE beer. So the other day we thought we would try a different brand. WOW it was different alright. It was worse than awful. I dont know, is pale ale supposed to taste like extreamly strong tea? That is just so wrong! Beer should taste like beer. And thats all I have to say. | |

| pale ale beer Posted: 11/4/2009 10:49:30 AM | It's just like anything else... different brands of beer taste differently. Same with ryes, whiskeys, wines, liqueurs...
Variety is the spice of life... and my preference for a beer would be ice cold warthog... so cold that there are ice shards in the beer that slide down your throat when drinking... a great outdoor winter beer.

What is wrong is assuming that all beer should just taste like beer.
Should all cheese just taste like cheese, should all wine just taste like wine?
If all beer tasted the same then it would be a very boring world.
There are two basic types of beer.
The type is determined by the yeast used for fermentation.
The 'ales' involve top fermenting yeast, while the 'lagers' involve bottom fermenting yeast.
Other factors that will change the flavours of the beer are the quality of the ingredients and where the water is sourced from.

| pale ale beer Posted: 11/4/2009 1:23:30 PM | Beers good but I'm a drunk so I drink Sharps near beer by Miller, it's pretty good and I like to smoke the weed also. When I drank the real stuff I was a Rolling Rock man having traveled by thumb when I was a youngin I got turned on to that beer outside the Alcoholics Anonymous capital of the world. Akron, Ohio..Then there was Relinder it isn't spelled that way Rylander, no more like Relinder, from Relinder Wisconsion, near Heaven on Earth, Eagle River. Pale Ales are great Bass Ale, I really miss the old beers Strohs, Hamms, Pabst, when I was a kid all us runaways in Fort Wayne busted a seal on a freight train and it was filled with "PBR" BEER, OH BOY! We thought we died and went to Heaven. Thee Good old Days. The only one seeking attention is the person that voted down this thread! There is a community of beer drinkers on POF and not all of them are drunks like me, please don't vote down this thread. | |

What brand of pale ale are you referring to? That makes a difference. Having said that, gimme a Pabst or Pearl anytime. No need for the fancy stuff.

|
| pale ale beer Posted: 11/4/2009 5:22:54 PM | OP, your beer might have been bad?? American beer is bland and fizzy, so I would expect people down there to not like new types of beer right away. Up here in Canada Pale Ales are great, never had a one I didn't like. | |

| pale ale beer Posted: 11/4/2009 6:00:28 PM | | Guinness isn't a Pale Ale. Pale Ales are served cold, just like the "crisp and light" beer you guys drink. | |
|
| pale ale beer Posted: 11/4/2009 6:15:01 PM | Different brands have different flavours. Try a John Adams mixed pack...6 different beers in a 12 pack format. Light pale, reds, blondes, regular lager...all kinds. There is a chocolate beer. Raspberry flavoured beer. Beer has become almost like wine....for any occasion or meal, there is different kinds that are best for meals! | |
