Ahhh...construction year is over (concrete anyways), kickin' back lettin' the beat-up body take its rest for a bit before hitting the gym for the winter...spending most of the time relaxing, listening to music and playing my guitar...

Then I got to wondering, when I found one of my most favorite bands on youtube, how many other 80's bands I forgotten about but still love their music to this day. Thorogood will always remain one of my favs, as well as Sawyer Brown, Nitty Gritty, and the Jitters.

But I finally got reacquainted with my all-timer favorite finally on youtube...The Razorbacks. Geez, I still remember when I first heard them play SATURDAY NIGHT the first time on the Super Dave Osborn Show.

Does anyone have any long-forgotten fav bands and/or songs from the 80s? Be kinda nice to hear of bands/songs that a lot of us have forgotten over the years and see what memories they bring back...

And a man whose hair looked MUCH like mine in the 80s

There are a lot - that's for sure.

One that sticks out for me as a "whatever happened to" band....The Gin Blossoms. Remember them? I liked them.

Oops, not really '80s.....I just googled. They were formed in 1987 but their hits were in the early '90s, specifically 1993.

Molly Hatchet!
Funny... I saw them in the mid 90s at reds in Edmonton and there was not a single original member left. I wondered how they could even use the name... spoke to their manager and he told me he had bought the rights. He apparently was the original manager. Kind of cheapened my memories of the band... but I still have a ton of their stuff on my MP3. Great southern rock.

Problem with Gin Blossoms is that they were quite repetitive... the three hits they had sounded exactly the same... but they did have an awesome name... wiki gin blossom... it's awesome!

I had a dance routine to Beat It at a young age...

Thanks AE. It's true, they were repetitive. Catchy though. I find Nickelback's songs just, well.....repetitive. LOL

Yeah, but if you ever see them live, watch really closely, and every once in a while Chad Kroeger's left foot DOES change position on the stage. Sometimes he even takes one hand off the mic!!!!

oh please, I was at their last concert (took my teen girls), and Chad Kroeger wouldn't stand still long enough to sing a song! I think he has ADD or something...

Platinum Blonde at least get runners-up for great hair!

Helix, Streetheart, Triumph, the Headpins.

Apparently, they are doing a Biopic of Joan Jett too! Who didn't have Samantha Fox's poster?

Kid had a "Flat Top". The dude did that movie too, I can't remember it. D Rock has a flat top in the movie Notorious about Biggie Smalls

I regret never having a Flat Top.

Michael Jackson's Thriller - many good songs from that album.
Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody
Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet
Van Halen - The David Lee Roth era
Guns 'N' Roses - Their earliest stuff.
Duran Duran - Yes they made very very cheesy videos, but at least they are remembered.

If I could go one more decade up then I'd have the goodies like Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana.

Billy Idol sure was one to party to around the bonfire and end-gates back home
David Bowie wasn't too bad either, but good God, was that man STRANGE

Does anyone remember Chiliwack's "Gone So Long" and Toronto's "Looking For Trouble" and "Her Daddy Don't Know"?

DEVO!!!!

We have two Whippets, so for my husband's birthday, I found him a great tshirt that had a Whippet on it, wearing a DEVO hat, carrying a whip and..................yes, it states "Whippet, just Whippet!"

AE, check out his FB profile if you can. It's hilarious!

Well I think the award for best hair now falls to Elvis. That hair must have taken you an hour to fluff up. Did you use Suave hairspray on that?

Man. That was some work. I had long hair in the mid 90's, but that was after the feathered glam look was gone. Mine was the Eddie Vedder, Curt Cobain look.
