What to do about 'Open/Undecided' that's important to you?
Posted: 11/4/2009 4:54:50 PM
I been here for a few week now looking and I have a question. Like many others, there are things which are important and there are things which are not important to me. For something that's important, if she put ''Open/Undecided' what should I do? What do people do? What do you recommend?

I thought about it and came to these ideas:

1) message her directly and ask her to elaborate (just that, no other content in the email).
2) send her a normal message and bring the question up later (and if that's what you think, how later?)
3) send her a normal message and ask in the message.

It means the person is flexible.

Open/undecided
means the person is undecided...
but open to the possibility.

Not a deal breaker for me.
Cus I'm persuasive.

That are parts of the profile here that are choices from a drop-down menu.

Sometimes it's just the closest choice, that's why there's that big box to write about yourself and clarify.

Stray_cat is right, that's as good a definition as there is.

Of course you could always do the unthinkable and JUST ASK! Yeah, I know save it as a last resort.

Question for you, OP, if it IS important, why wouldn't you ask?

Which one is the best?
The one you most feel comfortable with. As long as your e-mail is respectful, asking for elaboration or clarification about someone's profile is a valid. It's part of trying to get to know someone.

What should you do, run in the other direction, because it means she is indecisive about the subject...

OK, you have three suggestions any three can work...

However if it is like kids, I wouldn't put that in a first e mail... That is really something that seems like more down the road if there is some apparent chemistry...

Some things people are flexible on, and don't have set in stone, other people do... If these things are deal breakers for you, then you take a look at the rest of her profile to see whether they would fall under things you can't live with..
