| Profile review pleaswe. Posted: 11/5/2009 4:31:12 AM | | I need a profile review please. I send out a lot of messages to women and I've only gotten one serious response, period. I've been doing this for over a year and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I've updated my profile to the best of my ability and I still get no responses. I know this will sound bad, but I'm getting frustrated and am about ready to throw in the towel here. | |

| Profile review pleaswe. Posted: 11/5/2009 5:03:46 AM | Well, your profile isn't terrible, so I have to ask you what kind of first messages are you sending to women? You may be losing them in the message. Also, what kind of women are you writing to?
Remember that online dating is a numbers game. I can't tell you whether to give up or not, but most guys DO have to send a lot of emails to get a few responses. Good luck.

| Profile review pleaswe. Posted: 11/5/2009 5:10:00 AM | | My messages are pretty simple. I just say, see how they are doing , i noticed your profile and would ask if they would like to chat sometime. I'm am I doing something wrong? | |

You should always reference something they wrote in their profile. Show that you actually READ her profile, not just "noticed" it.
What you wrote could be sent to a thousand women. When you write to someone, make sure it something that would only apply to HER. DO NOT ask if they want to chat. Ask a couple questions about something she wrote, be respectful and complimentary. Tell her you would like to get to know her better.
Face it. You are an average Joe. You are going to have to do something to "stand out" from the crowd.

| Profile review pleaswe. Posted: 11/5/2009 5:56:01 AM | | I guess another problem I have is that I live in Buffalo, right across from Canada. Nothing against the ladies in Canada, but I have no way of crossing the border to meet them. (Nothing illegal, just no proper documentaion to cross the border.) Is there anyway I can weed out all the Canadian profiles I get? | |

facinated - fascinated i'll - I'll someone that wants - someone who wants someone that can - someone who can
Personally, I'd not be saying Asia is and will forever be your favorite band. A great lady who hates Asia might assume something negative and click away. Just narrows it down too much, IMO.
The full body shot of you standing in the blue shirt makes you look wider than I think is the case, because your arms are right next to your body. Replace it with one where your arms are away from your body and you'll look 40 pounds lighter.
Finally, I'd put something in there about your character traits. Are you naturally honest? A good communicator? Trustworthy? Etc. We know you like to get drunk and watch TV, but we don't know who you are in a pinch. Add some character to your activity-oriented info.
Happy fishing. | |

90% of Canadians live within 50 miles of the border, so we get it all the time from the other side. My search settings are set to within 25 miles (it's been a while since I searched, but I think I'm right) - and I get American women turning up all the time.

“90% of Canadians live within 50 miles of the border”
That’s due to you Canadian’s REALLY wanting to be American’s.

| Profile review pleaswe. Posted: 11/5/2009 10:02:03 AM | As to your request about messages. The subject title does make a difference as well as the message itself. If I were to write to Pam, I would do something like the following.
Subject Title - crossword at Starbucks
Do you do the NY Times puzzle in ink? I have always found those to be quite a challenge but if we put our minds together we might be able to solve one. Care to try sometime?
Ron
I don’t know how or if she would respond to that but it shows that I did read her profile, at least implies that we have a common interest and asks a question that she can respond to if she sees it as worth her effort.
