| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 11:37:26 AM | I like David Haye and admire his confidence. I could knock Valuev out no problem, I just need to be allowed to kick him in the groin to get to his knees and then get a 20lb sledgehammer and hit im wif it! That should do the job…maybe. Haye has a chance, he is quicker than Valuev and if he boxes him he can win. He can damage his ribs, a very good tactic to slow your opponent down and needs to get in land punches and get out before being tagged. Valuev has weight, height and reach advantage but is quite imobile. He will look to lean on Haye and tire him, keep him in a messy fight and will be looking to pick him off with single punches. At that size he only needs to land one. I predict a longish fight. No early stoppage, but Haye on points…maybe! | |

| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 11:43:49 AM | | I'd like to see Haye win, but I just can't see how he can maintian his punch power when he has to reach up to Val just to jab him!? Have you seen how bony his head is!? it's gonna take a hell of a punch to put him on his ar*e! I'm also wondering how well Haye will take a 12cm fist in his face! I hope one of my local drinking pits will have it on, should be a spectacle! KAPPOW!!! | |
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 12:05:25 PM | | I would like to think so. If he keeps on his bike, jabs & moves & doesn't get caught then I think he will. But if he gets tagged then it will be goodnight I fear. | |

| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 12:40:25 PM | | Speed, stamina and body blows. They should eventually upset the big Russian. | |
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 1:12:54 PM | Take a look at Valluev's last three fights on youtube, he is hopeless. He's huge and incredibly strong but he hasnt got a clue how to use his strengths. Evander Holyfield wooped his butt at 46 years of age last year. Something strange going on that he keeps getting awarded wins, even the WBA were investigating the holyfield result.
Basically Haye should win (a fair fight) if he keeps his head, no way he's gonna knock him down though. The guys a mountain.

| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 1:52:31 PM | | i think he is too big and heavy for david haye..he will wear him down in 6 rounds or so..i think matt skelton would of had a better chance with his strenghth and brawling style..or tyson fury..that would be a good scrap..lol | |
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 3:56:46 PM | | Haye can't do more than 4 rounds. | |
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 4:00:43 PM | | Valuev's fists are as big as David Haye's head!! | |

| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 5:19:42 PM | He doesnt really look human to me..........
The Russian I mean
Our boy is pretty huge himself but he looks like a kid in comparison, how have they ended up being pitted against each other? It doesnt look right, he will smash him up, surely?

vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
how come when they are so hugely different? thanks, luv

| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 5:21:19 PM | | They are in the same weight division, luv..... | |

Nikolay Valuev is 7"2 & 24st And a face, like a bulldog chewing a wasp This is a complete mismatch, it's like pitting a ballet dancer with a full grown grizzly bear! Good luck to our lad though, he looks more the proper boxer. If I was to meet either in the street though? The russian, would make me soil my pants by just saying hello!

| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 7:26:47 PM | Sjxx , the "fight" is in the heavyweight division, is a lower weight to be counted but as is the BIG Boys weight class is no upper limit,
maybe the Russian just abusing the fact .
Well ive decide to order two gaint pizza's for the night , i hope fight goes all way .
( plus ive invited friends round, so no both pizzas not for me )

| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 9:26:24 PM | | Haye will win if he keeps his distance and wears him down. Valuev fitness is not in the same leauge as Haye | |
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/5/2009 11:48:19 PM | I think Haye's speed and agility is his greatest asset against this giant and he will need to use both so not to get caught whilst trying to land those punches.
Size aside I'm unsure how Haye has even been ranked number 4 and given this chance when their are those much more deserving of the shot ??
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/6/2009 12:05:51 AM | I dont think Haye will get the knockout, but if he can keep up the speed and footwork, lots of hit and run for twelve rounds then he's in with a shout, but he has to prevent Valuev from closing him down, if he takes a big shot he's toast.
The stamina might be an issue as Haye has only boxed 7 live rounds in the last 18 months.
Still, the beers in the fridge and at least the fights on at a sensible hour.
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/6/2009 12:51:47 AM | Just because he is 7"2 & 24st, means nothing. Haye has power and speed for a Heavyweight, if he lands a decent dig, its goodnight Valuev. Look at that punch that Manny Pacquiao knocked Ricky Hatton out with, that would have knocked anyone 4 stone heavier out, so just because someone is a lot bigger, means nothing. Bigger they are, harder they fall.
My prediction is David Haye knocking him right out, inside 4 rounds.
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/6/2009 1:22:23 AM | | If he takes a step ladder to the ring possibly :) but in all seriousness I think if he keeps light on his feet and has the endurance and stamina to stay wide of this mans punches and get a few in himself than hopefully some might say. I dont see it happening unfortunately. | |
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/6/2009 3:24:09 AM | the russian does look a bit like the missing link but has haye got a chance? well all it takes is a decent shot on the sweet spot. but if i was him id just move in jab then hook/cross and move, keep going for a few rounds as doing that is knackering. or move on the inside around the ribs or the sturnam (sp?)
edit, im sure the pay day will ease the pain chops, thinking about ... he gets paid to go so many rounds and prob get knockout. i go 15 with strongbow knock myself out and get feck all ... no justice in the world

| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/6/2009 3:36:35 AM | | I don't know what Hayes training regime has been for this fight, but i reckon he should take a leaf out of Sylvester Stallones book and do some press ups and that in the snow, run up and down some big steps, ask his local butcher if he can spar with some cow carcasses, and listen to some Survivor tunes on his walkman. It may also be in his favour if this Russian bloke has defeated and killed one of his best friends. | |
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/6/2009 4:36:16 AM | The russian's massive and looks like his head is made of solid bone! Also isn't Haye going up a weight division for this fight? I think he should have picked a smaller opponent for his first heavyweight fight. I wouldn't get in the ring with Valuev even if I had a gun! I can't see it lasting long.... RUN!!

Can Haye win If so how
If I was fighting this giant Russian I'd have him no problem at all.
I''d just run around the ring for 11 rounds trying to aviod his punches and hope that by round 12 he was so tired I could knock him out with one punch.
Size isn't always everything!
|
| Can Haye Win ? Posted: 11/6/2009 6:11:30 AM | Absoultly! If Hollyfield can get through the rounds with out being knocked out then the chances are he will.
David Haye can get out of danger, he can get in do damage and get out again, Hayes said his only worry was the ring floor being strong enough for the giant sloth falling on it.
Plus the fact that Haye's trainer has been wearing 7 inch goth boots so it's a bit more realistic. I've just put a tenner on Hayes winning, soo fingers crossed.
Do us proud boy! | |
