Posted: 11/5/2009 1:18:59 PM | Hi OnTime…you’ve got the idea, but without REALLY GOOD PHOTOS, you’re gonna be passed over. Ladies say to themselves…”If this guy really was serious about dating, he’d get good photos”. TRUE true true.
A few more suggestions…
1) Buy yourself a digital camera as an early Xmas present. Consider it an INVESTMENT in dating!
2) It’s great that your life is “high octane”, but in the 1st sentence she’s already wondering if you have any time for her. The first sentence really counts, and with yours, you're already down for the count (sorry).
3) You don’t disclose what you do although you tell her you like it (that’s good). Tell her about your job. And why do you like it?
4) I’d nix everything from the Why I’m Here on down. It’s too unfocused.
5) Instead….tell her more specifics about you….what are your hobbies? Do you fly (you list aviation)? Do you sing in a choir (you list singing) or do karaoke?
6) What movies do you like? Suspense, sci-fi, horror, zombie, what?
7) What period of history do you like?….It’s in your interests, but you don’t let her in on it.
8) Nix the “poetry” from the interests…it stereotypes you as wussy (sorry…I like poetry too).
9) Nix the “people watching” from the interests….(most people people-watch, but here it doesn’t work and conveys a weirdo stereotype.)
10) Redo the 1st date….this is the place to woo the lady. What “tea” place did you have in mind? That cozy one with the French bakery on Parker Road? Or the one that serves homemade bagels in 15+ varieties...and their cinnamon raisin is the BEST? Or Starbucks? Or somewhere down on the 16th street mall (Hi Neighbor!).
You are bright, articulate, employed, probably nice looking…..lots of ladies are looking for someone like you. But like you say in your profile….”you get out of it what you put into it” and “it takes hard work”. Consider this your part time job where your pay off can be awesome!
Do the work (better and more photos, interesting profile)….and your karma will improve.
