| Nero 9 Lite For Free. Posted: 11/5/2009 3:56:58 PM | Hardly surprising, theres some better if not cheaper alternatives out in the wild now...
Not like when they first started, they were pretty much one of two burnware makers

| Nero 9 Lite For Free. Posted: 11/5/2009 7:53:12 PM | | it is a little surprising at the fact that considering Nero never gives anything out for free, they must be feeling pressure from other free basic burning apps out there that forced them to put out a free burning basic software product like don said. | |

Check out 9down, it was in their "news section" 2 or 3 months ago

| Nero 9 Lite For Free. Posted: 11/8/2009 9:32:11 PM | Can't speak for Nero Lite, but I have never had a Coaster using the 9x Premium Edition, even with cheap CD-R/DVD-R & DL Disks. It's a touch on the bloaty side but does a superb Job preventing other Applications on your computer to screw up the burning process while still allowing them to function properly. Manages Duo/Quad Core CPUs extremely well.
Even while copying big-a$$'d Files in Windows, Nero will properly gear down the burning speed down to under 1x without producing a Coaster.
Nero 6/7/8 were good too, but not this good.
Try this with Imageburn, Ultra-ISO or CDRwin .... good luck !

Great tools, I have used Imageburn and Ultra-ISO, Haven't used CDRwin yet, I'll have to try it out, thanks.
ISORecorder by Alex Feinman is also an excellent tool for creating images from files/folders and for burning the images to cd/dvds...very light weight, installs in a few seconds but doesn't have all of the functionality that nero might have. http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

| Nero 9 Lite For Free. Posted: 11/10/2009 8:22:48 AM | | I installed it, and just as I suspected, it's very crippled, and basically useless. I don't need another data burner. I do audio CDs. It won't even do that without an upgrade to the full version. I much prefer Roxio Creator anyway. It has what I need to help me create my audio projects. Roxio, along with Adobe Audition 3, dbpoweramp, and iZotope RX, all make a beautiful team. | |

| Nero 9 Lite For Free. Posted: 11/10/2009 1:52:13 PM | I gave up on Roxio and Nero a couple of years ago.... they get more bloated with each new version (I have software for photo editing and mp3s, I don't need it in my burn software - and I am not "burning" my vinyl 33s and 45s anytime soon).
I stumbled on CDBurnerXP a couple of years ago, and it does all you could want from burning software - burns everything from CDs to BRs, makes flawless ISO discs (I used it to make my Win7 beta and RC installation discs) - and yep, it's 100% free.

Then why did you install it in the first place. Did you not read this part.

Here's what I do:
I record my vinyl into Audition in 32-bit, 44.1. I declick it there, and take it to iZotope RX for any NR it may need. Then, I open the results up in Audition again for any further processing, chopping up the big wave into tracks, editing, and fades. I may choose to use a limiter to slightly boost the volume by a couple of decibels. Then, I take it all back to iZotope for the dither, as MBIT+ has the most transparent software dither available, if I want a 16-bit version.
I then label the files and create FLAC files to be stored on two separate hard drives. From there, I can burn CD-Rs with Audition (with the third-party FLAC filter).
Making comps is where Roxio comes in. I can use it to create multiple volume comps, of, say a given year. I can either burn my CD-Rs with that, or archive the volumes to FLAC for hard drive storage.
SteelCity,
I admit I did not see that bit of detail.:) But, I was curious of how they did the UI, as I have not used Nero for many years.
I just like having various programs available to me for my work.
