Didn't see anything under this. This I know: When someone closes their profiles all the messages to that user (as shown in one's sent box) are deleted. Existing messages received from that user, however, remain in your inbox. Question: do newly sent messages from a user who has just closed their account go through to one's inbox? That is, is it possible to get a new (unopened) message from someone who has closed their account? Ex. User sends message to X at 9:00pm. User closes account at 9:01pm. Does that message actually reach X and sit in their inbox? Thanks.

Yes. Any messages they send before deletion will still be in your inbox. When the system deletes them, all traces of them are deleted also, I think that includes messages too. Hope this helps.

Ex. User sends message to X at 9:00pm. User closes account at 9:01pm. Does that message actually reach X and sit in their inbox? If it arrived before they closed their account it would be in their inbox until the account was closed. So that was one minute perhaps in your scenario. If the account is open it is delivered. It is deleted when they close their account. As they no longer have a valid inbox in the system. Cowboy

FYI - Delivered messages remain in the recipient's inbox, irrespective of when the sender closes their account or the status of the email in the recipient's inbox.

Delivered messages that are in a recipient's inbox will be deleted , if the sender's profile is deleted by the system/admin.

Okay. Just one last clarification -- unread messages sent from a deleted user still appear in one's inbox? There was something in the FAQ that suggested incoming messages would be deleted if account was closed. I.e. message sent 9:00pm, account deleted 9:01pm, inbox opened by user (me) at 11pm. That new unread message still should show up? Thanks again.

I.e. message sent 9:00pm, account deleted 9:01pm, inbox opened by user (me) at 11pm. That new unread message still should show up? If the profile was deleted by the user, the unread message will be there. If the profile was deleted by Admin, the unread message will disappear.
