http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/politics/A-Disconnected-President.html

I mentioned a while back that it was not smart to get involved with the professor/officer Crowley issue.

I later mentioned that calling Kanye West a jackass was a poor move.

I stated that it showed poor judgement and lack of self-control, as evidenced by lots of things he did in his campaign, as well as the little photo-shoot fly-over with Airforce 1 a while back.

Everyone shouted it down because "Kanye IS a jackass" well yeah...but it's not the president's job to call every celeb. on their behavior.

Well, once again his lack of forsight has hurt not only himself, but others as well. His inexperience will continue to show, I just hope and pray it doesn't cost us more than it already has. Like I said before, it is a disturbing trend that people seem to just brush under the rug.

From an outsider's point of view... the man was crucified long before he gained office when he was still the president elect.

He's been blamed for things that he couldn't possibly have had control over, his heritage and birth have been called into question as well as his right/ability to perform the duties of president.

Most of this censure comes from the south and south eastern states, in the north west and the north, he seems to be quite popular.

I wonder at the reason for the angry and outspoken mindset... after all, when Clinton was getting blow jobs in the oval office from his interns, many vehemently upheld his right to a personal life and that he as a human being could make mistakes... why hold Obama to a higher plane than anyone else?

I remember how big a deal the expression on Bush's face was when he was informed about 9/11. Obama's reaction to Ft Hood wasn't much different but I doubt there will be that much of a fuss about it in the media.
I'm not that big of a fan but there've been two things the President has done so far that have given me reason to smile. One was his decision to shoot the pirates and the other was calling west a jackass. OP you rained on my parade.

I think we're all forgetting what the real issue is that he's black....sort of. And a muslim...a racist, a socialist, and I'm pretty sure he's from the planet Fruntog.

Fox News told me that, and by god...I believe it! I mean, come on...they are the ONLY Fair AND Balanced cable-news network on TV!

Woo hoo. Long live Amurica...Amuuurica.

Yes, but this team is burning money at TWICE the rate of the last team. Fail.

Well, shooting the pirates = win. Good call on that one. I agree.

^I don't understand your post Windroper. Obama is spending more money on the war than Bush did from what the numbers are telling us. More troops=more $$$.

Well... pulling the troops out wasn't an option. It ain't like the war was his idea.

Yeah... I remember Bush II requesting and receiving authorization to enter Afghanistan to feret out Bin Laden and Al Qaeda following 9/11. Next thing we knew he had taken his eye off the ball and we were invading Iraq which resulted in confusion for alotta Americans who still make ignorant-azz comments connecting Iraq to 9/11. Now they're even less sure of where Bin Laden and Al Qaeda cells are. They suspect many are in Pakistan but we won't go there cuz they have nuclear capability. So they say we're trying to keep Bin Laden and Al Quaeda from operating out of Afghanistan when in actuality with today's technology a 'base of operations' is less necessary for terrorist activities. Or do you believe the Ft. Hood shooter attended an Al Quaeda training camp?

well u should watch msnbc then, lord nows how fair there are, then after u watch them u and the other 17 people can talk about it. i always find it funny how people love to blame fox news, yes i think fox news leans right, i dont think they are in the tank for the repubs, just look at fox news ratings they are blowing all others out of the water, but yet obamas approvall rating stays pretty high, now how does that work. if fox news is brainwashing everyone why has obamas ratings stayed high? the fact is if u really watch fox news( except for hannity) you will see both sides of the agruments.i mean colmes, powers and beckele, i doubt these people are in the tank for the repubs.i watch oreilly alot, and i have heard him say alot about what he thinks obama is doing right and i have heard him say what he doesnt agree with, to me thats a man voiceing his opinion.its just people hear one thing they dont like and all the sudden he is in the tank for the other side.give me a break. the reason i think fox news ratings are so high is simple, they reflect what most americans see and feel which is sometimes obama ( or any president) is right and sometimes hes not.

I take it Fail is the new word of the day.

did you notice that the last team didn't inherit the BIGGEST ECONOMIC CRISIS SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION? in fact, they inherited a pretty healthy economy, financed two wars on the taxpayers tab by mortgaging the country to the Chinese, financed a tax cut by further mortgaging the country to the chinese (a tax cut during two wars. how out to lunch is that?), Failed to do anything about the burgeoning healthcare crisis and then threw what was left of the economy down the tube by ignoring the ongoing banking crisis.

talk about Fail.

what did people think the next team was going to do? magically revive the economy, win the unwinnable wars, fix healthcare, and undo the collapse of the nations economy by snapping their fingers and turning around twice?

as it is we are damn lucky we aren't looking at stockmarket at 6k, a complete collapse of our credit system, the demise of detroit, millions upon millions out of work and a national economy spiraling into the dirt.

Its funny to see Obama supporters with their heads in the sand.....we have millions upon millions out of work now, the stock market isnt fairing well and the Dollar is fairing even worse.....Health Care Crisis...Please! remember what Rahm said about Crisis?....maybe if Obama and his minions would address the more immediate crisis the Economy and the Wars then maybe we might have a chance at Real recovery. They are more concerned with forcing their Liberal agenda on Americans than they are with actually fixing things...think about all the time and effort invested in HCR while unemployment has climbed to over 10% since he has taken office....was in the 7's when he took office.....no major decisions on the War efforts...but by Golly he might get HCR which will maybe go into effect in 2013 for most Americans at the earliest.....and by Golly the Green people will be happy with all they are trying to do...who cares that 16,000,000 + are unemployed...

Obama had all the answers and solutions now that he has been in Office for almost a year it is becoming more evident that he has no clue WTF he is doing....I mean besides catering to the far left liberal agenda.............

So, let me get this straight, Obama spends less than two minutes addressing the folks in attendance and congratulates those who put on the event for doing a fine job with the event before he addresses the Fort Hood issue, and you say he's dropped the ball. He wasn't at a press conference if you didn't notice. This is your evidence of what? That you don't like the guy. Why didn't you title this thread "I'm looking for every little reason to bash the President that I can even when there is nothing to bash him about." Damn, you're really grasping for straws anymore. Drank the Fox kool-aide again I see. You do know the difference between a press conference and a social function right?
Then you want to reference an off the record remark about Kanye West. The guy is an ass. The president wasn't making a formal statement when he said it. He was candidly speaking his mind off the record. Is he not allowed to have an opinion or are you apalled that he said "ass."

bingo.

and the straight press views fox as a joke. along much the same lines as the national inquirer and other supermarket tabloids. most consider them more of an annoyance and simple-minded entertainment than actual news.

dennden,
Fox is making an issue out of something that is not a big deal. This is another one of their "You should hate your President" scheme. Do you see anything wrong with the way the President handled this speech? Was he supposed to not acknowledge the attendees in a respectable manner before he addressed the Fort Hood issue? It was less than two minutes before he addressed the Fort Hood issue and suddenly Fox jumps on his case. I'm just saying that Fox is a poor place to get your news when you want to know what the President said as is apparent in the scenario. They looked for any stupid, elementary minded excuse to bash him rather than report what he actually said about Fort Hood.

look i watch fox news, i agree with you i dont think that this is a big deal.should he have done differently, maybe, hine sight is 20/20. but dont act like all the press doesnt do this, they do so to single out fox for something u disagree with, well i just look at things in a differnt light.look cbs got caught making up a story, same with the newyork times, iam just saying they all do it.so to answer you, no i dont see anything wrong with what obama did, again fox news doesnt speak for me.i dont think any news org. should do a "You should hate your President" scheme, so let me ask you, when a left wing or left leaning org. does it, do u have a problem with it?

I just felt like I just came in from the twilight zone...

This was supposed to be a special presidental address on the shooting. It took Obama almost 2 and 1/2 minutes to get off his campaign jag to get into his speech about Fort Hood.

Hey it wasnt like he had just been informed, his press people had given shoutouts to the media about Obama going to talk on the Fort Hood Tragedy.

The word had gone out that Obama had a special speech from Obama on the shooting and news media broke away for his speech on this.

Some people even were turning on TV sets just to watch what Obama had to say.

^^^Not to split hairs here., but the President spoke for less than two minutes before addressing the Fort Hood incident. The other thirty seconds or so that you saw was Shepard Smith's segway(sp) to the Obama speech. That is if you looked at the same footage I did.

Denny, I take my news with a grain of salt like you do. I know msnbc is really bias, Fox is also, CNN leans left. I don't watch anyone else...other than Stewart and Colbert. I'll hear the story a few times before I formulate an opinion on the topic.
