The other Fella made a "Seeking a" Change in his Edit Profile (possibly to correct a wrong Setting) at some Point in the Past, and some same Gender Users may show up for him from Time to Time. It's a Site Coding/Database Anomaly, because he should only be seeing Women if that is what he is seeking.

Posted: 11/7/2009 5:35:35 PM | I have just recieved a note from markus. I mean, it's a warning that gives a list of things I may have done, but no specifics. The only thing I can think of is maybe my very old profile that I have not used for ages is something I should remove. I just don't know how to do it, so I hid my old profile instead. Is there somebody who knows how to get rid of a profile? I have just never been able to figure that out, which might be why I'm in trouble, but I'm not sure if that's the crime or not. Anyone else in hot water like me and doesn't know why? | |

I am presuming I will not show as Online if my profile is hidden. Hiding my profile seems to be a great way to get messages only from people that I message first. | |

Your POF "Online" status means you are currently logged in, or were logged in until a short while ago, to your mail/profile account on POF and nothing else.
This status is not affected if you are or are not logged into the POF forums. | |

Any Online Indicators on this Site only refer to this Site, not the Internet in general.

Posted: 11/9/2009 3:12:06 PM | Also remember that although you won't show up in any searches if your profile is hidden people can still see you in the Forums and access your profile from there.
I think you might also need to set the mail setting so that no one can see you viewed them (also known as stealth mode!). | |

Hiding ur profile under edit is completely different. We still want to be seen and recieve messages. We just dont want people to no when we log on.. Its the online now thats appears under ur picture that pops up everywhere. In the rows above inbox, favs, ur matches etc. For example only, M*Sp**e has a privacy setting to remove online now from under you. Everthing else remains the same. Its no one elses business when we are online and we have the right not to be bothered. It really is simple. Thanks | |
