| Keep It Short Stupid Posted: 11/7/2009 8:46:30 AM | Greetings all,
Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile.
I know the importance of a first impression. But, as my profile stated, I'm not one to share my life story online. But is there enough to peek the ladies curiosity?
What else should I add?
How are the pictures?
All comments are appreciated! I am new on POF. A friend of mine told me about this site, so I thought I'd check it out. Good luck to everyone!
Regards,
Mr Shutterbug

The information you provide is supposed to give an idea of what your personality is like and provide points of reference for your viewer to find things in common. It is very rare for someone to contact you not having any better clues than the generic interests you've listed.
Photography - where do you go to take pictures? do you prefer people or natural scenes?
Travel - where have you been, and where do you still want to go?
Sports - do you play? Rabid fan? Fave Team?
You never know what your viewer will find in common, but she needs the clues.

| Keep It Short Stupid Posted: 11/7/2009 5:16:20 PM | | OP, the K.I.S.S. idea is good if your target audience is afflicted with ADHD... Listen to you go first, I've read some of her other postings and she gives practical, intelligent profile advice. I'd add to her remarks that your tight age range and short distance are really limiting factors. What if there is a mature 26 year old that lives 76 miles away and likes your profile but is discouraged from responding! Any dealbreaking factors should be mentioned in the text, where you have a chance to explain why you feel the way you do, but be careful as it can veer into emotional baggage territory or sound whiny. Humor helps. You also might want to be bit more specific about the type of woman you are interested in dating. Good luck and good fishing, man! | |

| Keep It Short Stupid Posted: 11/7/2009 5:57:54 PM | Seriously, I think we should start a petition to get another mail setting for distance. The choice between 20.000 and 75 miles is simply unfair! ...
Who's with me? ;) | |

| Keep It Short Stupid Posted: 11/7/2009 6:13:10 PM | Melangell, I'm with you on that one, the choices should be:
Local only (0-10 miles) 0-50 miles 0-100 miles 0-250 miles unrestricted
That should cover all of mid-distances before it veers into long distance relationships! Cheers!

| Keep It Short Stupid Posted: 11/7/2009 8:55:33 PM | | Seeing that the US is pretty big I would throw one more in there: 0 - 1500, which is about half the width of the US. Other than that I am with you, Zazen! :) | |

| Keep It Short Stupid Posted: 11/8/2009 8:25:42 AM | | Here! Here! I'd also like to see specific age restrictions. It would make it so much easier. | |
|
| Keep It Short Stupid Posted: 11/8/2009 9:43:52 AM | There are age restrictions, right above the distance settings.
OP, I do apologize for changing the subject here in the middle of your thread. I liked your profile just the way it was, and after YGF told you her five cents there was nothing else to add. You are all good to go! :)

Maybe I just wasn't patient enough. I've got a few replies back.
