| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/7/2009 2:23:27 PM | What with Starsigns being a requirement for a profile, I wonder what the ratio of people is who take it seriously to people who view it as just a bit of fun? And why do most of my profile viewers seem to be Aries? | |
|
| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/7/2009 2:44:04 PM | I tend to be of the opinion that Horoscopes are meaningless, and I dont even notice them on peoples profiles.
That kind of cynicism is typical of an Aries though.

| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/7/2009 2:56:59 PM | Actually the best ever astrologer I ever read was an Aries. Her name is Linda Goodman. She is so funny and so hilarious.

| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/7/2009 5:10:34 PM | Well, as a Leo I know for a fact that I will never get on with a Libra man so yes, I actually do look at star signs
Horoscopes (proper ones, not the ones at the back of a daily paper) tend to have some truth in them.
Any Leos, Scorpios or Taurus men in East London?

| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 12:05:04 AM | I dont believe either, and have to admit iv never even noticed it on a profile, too busy oggling the pictures

|
| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 4:11:35 AM | Actually, I do believe that birth sign has some influence on personality type.
I'm a leo and am really typical of my sign. Trouble is I tend to attract taureans and it really doesn't work. All of my serious relationships have been with taureans and my being here (yet again) should give a clue about how that works!
I would love to meet someone who wasn't a taurus. Well, except for a scorpio. I just know we'd kill each other within a fortnight...

| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 4:14:32 AM | Some people have said I'm a typical Saggitarian. The interesting thing about that is, the only people who say that are people who have read my profile where it says I'm a Saggitarian. I'm not a Saggitarian, I made a mistake when I set up my profile and it's too late to change it.
Conclusion: Utter rubbish.
|
| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 4:22:31 AM | Perhaps we should get Russell Grant involved in this discussion? Or is he too busy celebrating Staines' win yesterday? "It was written in the stars..." I'm with IcePie on this. It's cobblers. | |
|
| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 4:41:22 AM | I think star signs are irrelevant and don't pay any attention to them. Maybe they are on profiles because they are meaningful to a lot of people. | |
|
| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 5:25:37 AM | When I was younger I used to read them every day and believed them! Now I see it as rubbish. I was born under the sign of scorpio 8th november which is today!
vvv thanks! I notice that they change the number of years automatically on our profiles, Shame!

| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 7:21:20 AM | Happy Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day.
I tend to avoid Sagittarians because both my long term relationships were with with men born under this sign and neither relationship was particularly happy for me.
|
| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 7:21:58 AM | Star signs are great .........I'm defo mine ' Leo' really hard to find a lion tamer ......lol gotta be caught first | |
|
| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 8:48:07 AM | what is displayed on our profiles is our star sign, a horoscope is another name for an astrological chart cast from the moment a person is born!
the only people in the whole wide world who are likely to debunk the subject aqre those who haven`t studied seriously.
it has literally nothing in common with what you read in the newspapers, it`s an exacting science, ask any scientist who has taken time out to investigate the validity of the art.
michel gauqualin was a psychologist and statastician who was well respected in scientific circles, he made a study of hundreds of birth charts in order to debunk, but had to admit that his findings, (especially relating to a persons occupation), came out stastically very much in favour of the validity of astrology.
not everyone is typical of their birth sign, that is because the sun in your chart may be obscured by both the angle it makes with other planets, and the position (house) that it appears in, but by and large, most people possess lots of traits relative to their date of birth.

| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 9:21:34 AM | Yep cant say I have ever been a one for actually reading a horoscope but I am a typical cancerian it seems. | |
|
| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 9:34:49 AM | Interesting points, Mr Merkin. A lot of people get confused by starsigns and the "exacting science" behind Astrology. But in all honesty, why would I want to study something that insinuated that my actions should be influenced by where a bit of rock happens to be in the sky at any one time? It all seems a bit primitive to me. | |
|
| What's With This Horoscope Stuff? Posted: 11/8/2009 1:24:31 PM | steve, n answer to your question, 'a bit of rock in the sky at any one time'.
everything in the heavens (universe), is influenced by everything else, there is absolutely nothing that is random!
the same principal applies even on the quantum level.
here`s food for thought, any planet in our solar swystem can be plotted to its actual position for any time in the past or into the future, so taking this point to its conclusion.........TOMORROW HAS ALREADY HAPPENED!!!
"and why not" says the writer.
peace and blessings | |
