Is there a better way to say this?

In my profile I specify that I'm just looking for platonic dating. Is there a better way I should say that, do I need to expand on it, etc.? And any other profile suggestions would be appreciated.

Maybe you'd be better of stating "friends" because isn't that what 'platonic dating' is?? Or are you looking for a love relationship sans the sexual involvement? Maybe I'm confused?

Not a love relationship, but more of a date structure than just doing something with a friend. Platonic, no sex involved, but still something where it's two specific people out together on a date and concentrating on each other until the date is over, as opposed to friends doing something together but who might be joined by or go off with another friend they happen to run into.

ted The best way to say it is just that, SAY IT! Platonic dating...and then if they don't understand they can write and you can explain. I don't think there IS any other way to say that that wouldn't be MORE confusing.

Activity partner?

I would say "dating".
Just don't have sex on your date.

You said it just fine...but you might wanted to include something along these lines.....Looking for a best friend to hang out with...-Let's have fun together and have nothing hanging over our shoulders at the end of the date......

If you're not looking for anything sexual maybe you're just looking for a friend? I mean, maybe a male friend? -Don't take that for anything more than what I said, not trying to imply anything - fyi. Just making suggestions.

That would be a different feel, I think. I'm kind of asexual, I don't do the actual sexual stuff with anyone, female or male, but I'd still like something that feels like dating rather than like just hanging out with another guy. Dinner and conversation, go for a walk and look at the stars, maybe some holding hands or sitting close together; I'd like that even though anything more physical than that isn't me.

My virgin Pina Colada analogy: I don't drink alcohol, I don't want to, but I still like having something that's like a Pina Colada without the alcohol, rather than just a glass of pineapple juice; there's a different feeling to it, different associations and all.

Now, would something like the above be good for my profile?
