The investigation revealed very high Santa awareness among children, with children in America stating he was the only fictional character more highly recognised than Ronald McDonald.
Wow - a 'high Santa awareness amongst children' = how unexpected
He wrote:"Like Coca-Cola, Santa has become a major export item to the developing world."
Wasn't it the Coca Cola Corporation that gave us the modern Santa image?
Father Christmas could also potentially promote drink-driving, argued Grills, referring to the tradition of leaving Santa Claus a brandy to wish him well on his travels.
Yes - it's true of course - and by the time they get to 17 they still all believe in Santa don't they?
The man is a genius!!!!!

All it does is reinforce the negative steriotype that all fat people are jolly. I have only met a few happy fat people in my life, and i myself am as bitter as a high % cocoa dark chocolate. Plus he hardly "drives". he's not in control of a motorised veichle.

If I was Santa I would laugh HO HO HO in their faces..swig back a mulled no alcohol totty and do wheelie on the roof tops of opinion. He's our hero..

| Santa promotes obesity and drink-driving, claims health expert Posted: 12/18/2009 1:33:59 PM | Why do so many people refer to him as "Santa" now?
He was always Father Christmas when I was a kid.........
as for Coke deciding to make him red, that's a bit of an urban myth - although they did use him in an ad campaign in the 30's
According to the BBC the colours are widely thought to derive from the original Saint Nicholas, who was the Bishop of Myra in the 4th Century. Red and white were the hues of traditional bishop robes, although some historians argue that he originally dressed in different colours

"If Santa sneezes or coughs around 10 times a day, all the children who sit on his lap may end up with swine flu as well as their Christmas present,"
Im speechless Assuming he, of course, has Swine Flu. Perhaps it should be compulsory for all Santas to have SF jabs?
