| Ladies, what am I doing wrong?...
Posted: 7/14/2005 5:27:27 PM | I have been on this site for a while now and (having said this) I would like to know what's wrong with my profile? I have sent many E-mails to women on this site, both with a picture and not. I have gotten responses, but most of the responses are from women accross the sea (i.e. england and such). Which is fine and great, but locally no.
I have made sure that what I'm writing is not rude or vulgar in any way shape or form. I have been polite, witty(which is difficult), basically just a decent human being. I have read the profiles and when I have found something in common with the person. I tried to let them know that the interests are similar. Yet... still nothing.
I'm just looking for some constructive criticism. Thanks, KOH. | |

Also, don't have that cat as your first pic....Get a better headshot one, and use that one instead (and than you can have the dog one too, cause that's nice, and gives a good indication of who and what you're all about). If your hair is shorter now, don't use the tux picture, it looks a bit dated....
Other than that, keep trucking! You know, it 'is' possible to have a really cool long distance relationship as well, so don't ignore those lovely gals from the UK! | |

What do women value in western cultures compared to cultures overseas? What type of person do women expect? Its kind of cold, but it is the truth. Women maybe more choosey because they can afford to be. But, in your case...I don't think you should be having problems. I would rewrite your profile, though. | |

Get a head shot for ur main pic, and then i really like the one of you and your dog, attach that to every email, haha, its so cute. Other than that, maybe narrow ur accepted emails if you dont want a long distance thing. and make sure when ur emailing people you take into consideration location, age, race, religion, etc. While you may not care about these things, to some people they are important, and that may be the reason you arn't getting response, so dont be offended. I've been on here for quite awhile now myself and in the beggining i sent some e-mails to some women who according to their profiles i thought had similar interest and types of things we enjoy and what we are looking for. And to this day i havn't had any that have done much other than give me a polite rejection(and i'd rather get a rejection than not hear anything back as i took the time to write them). So i've resigned myself to just check into the forums now and then and give up on attempting to strike up the first conversation with any women from my area on here. My profile is an honest outline of myself but it seems most women are not sincere about what they say they are looking for so i wonder why they are even on here . Seems to me some women are just out to see how many men find them (judging by their profiles) attractive or remotely interesting. | |

AS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE "CAPS" - READ THE WORDS NOT THE SIZE OF THE LETTERS - WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? I DID'NT KNOW EMILY POST HAD A CHAPTER IN HER BOOK ON THE PROPER WAY TO WRITE AN E-MAIL OR THAT SO MANY OF U ACTUALLY READ IT!

Yours was funny and original from most car/person profiles, however, the concept is way overused from singles ads to birthday announcements in the classifieds. If someone sent me an email and their profile had this, I would delete it because I would know right away that we were not on the same wavelength. | |
