So what does everyone think of this? I've signed up as it looks like at some point it will become a paid site...at the moment though its free... The site doesnt have as many apps as POF does...all though I'm sure Markus will eventually add more as it goes along... Its very simplified to what Markus has developed here... of course POF has evolved quite a bit since I first joined in sept 2005
The question is...how many of you will join EVow... to look for a serious relationship? At least right now its free... where here on POF if we want to be a "SERIOUS MEMBER" We have to pay for that too? | |

I shall look closer next time! LOL I cant say I was very original and wrote a new ad... but at the same time... who knows...maybe someone will find me there Or not... maybe I have a better chance of getting hit by a bus... Hmmm thinking about that now... that might not be a bad idea... Yummy Paremedics and fireman come to the scene of the accident... Any volunteers to take me out but with non-life threatning injuries? lol
It will be interesting to see how Markus develops the site vs POF... just thinking of all the changes I have seen here in over 5 yrs... and how simple EVOW is right now... What kinds of things is he going to bring to the site to make it worth while for people to want to pay for a membership??? | |

I doubt he will advertise on TV and such.... I don't think he wants to waste his millions on that.
The name certainly isn't catchy....... And so the only thing that will happen is what you few who have posted on here have said. Same people same profiles, just copied and pasted. Oh and don't forget the same pics that they have had up here for the entire time.
Oh I know one thing that may happen? Maybe some will delete their profiles from here? Then Markus will loose the *worlds largest dating site* hmmm.
Could he be shooting himself in the foot? Ha ha
Oh and remember the thread about the paid memberships? From a long time ago? He randomly gave them out! Not one person said they paid!
My girlfriend was given one. She doesn't like it. And the only way to get rid of it is to delete the profile.
Not fair really. Making people look like they are desperate and paying for something that everyone else is happy for free.... She didn't like the *gift*
I think one dating site to be on is enough.

I too did the cut and paste, thought I should try something more original, but with the same faces appearing and even less detail than here, it totally cut all my inspiration lol, so I didn't even load the pic yet and put a cynical "whatever" as profile title... No rush, they're all here anyway... 
I really see no point at all having 2 sites, the second one being a pale copy of the first one that is already inefficient and highly object of easy to fix issues that are source of critics for many...
Even getting worse, we have now 2 new questions to answer, about kids and smoking. No answer, no possibility to read your messages. 
EEEEW might appears interesting eventually if we do not have to answer these silly redundant questions.
Funny thing is I wanted to posted that last part in the "POF is conditional thread" but it has been blocked... | |

Posted: 10/25/2010 10:12:05 PM | Well... what I am finding interesting is I've rec'd way more contact in the last few weeks there on evow then I have on pof in a very long time...and I essentially have the same profile content there... just fewer pictures on Evow.... I like the winks that are there...as it sends an email to the user...and if they're interested they email you back or send a wink... Just have to say ...so far...the men that have replied to me... certainly seem more serious they the ones that I have had contact from here. Not sure why..but it seems those that do contact me here put very little thought into their messages...but have had more detailed responses on evow...
To the last poster... yes I'm sure eventually it will not be free...but for the time being... I dont see what it hurts.... to have more exposure ...even if its the same users that are here.. they're at least more interested and obviously looking at fewer women then here.... I'll keep you all posted when I get married and have a "serious relationship"  | |

They send an email...and another and another hoping you'll be the "desperate" one they are hoping for (male or female) that will "love them" enough to send them money. Heard about something like it from a guy I know. His buddy posed as a woman and milked "desperate" men of money...was pretty sad really. | |

People who pay are paying because they want to find legitimate serious response to their profile/ad. Unfortunately paid sites are centered on specific wants. Such as in my case, I want riders only, yet if I join a paid riders only site I run in to "Joe Bikers", if I join a paid simple dating site, I run in to a site that offers few riders. .... hence I sift through FREE sites and find few who are serious or actually for real. | |

As for paying vs. free, the only difference I can imagine between the two would be fewer poor people on the paid sites. The real douchebags and predators were the first ones there. How much would a playa pay for clothes, beauty products, their car, etc.? Do you really think the price of a membership would scare them off? A pay site is merely another hunting ground. Now if a site did identity verifications and criminal record checks while also providing up to date feedback on their dating history you might have a better pool of daters to choose from.
Now if he made a site for active users who actually were interested in going out on dates once in a while, I might pay money for that. | |
