Yup... As a child growing up, long before you were gleams in your fathers eye, I was lying on the floor beside our upright radio, my ear pressed against the brown diamond braided cloth of the speaker, listening to Hop-a-long Cassidy! Of course sometimes it was The Loooooooone Ranger!
Nowadays I turn to Mystery Play 1 radio for the old classics or ACB Radio Treasure-Trove.
So this Grandma can still travel back to Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey, or even to Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee... now that was music to my ears!
Thanks for reminding me...*grin*

You would certainly broaden your audience. The actual age gradient is leaning heavily towards my generation these days as the baby boomers 'come of age' But I don't know anybody who doesn't love to be read to. You would recapture us oldies and introduce a whole new generation of people to the wonder that was radio before television made our imaginations lazy!

There's a great local NPR station that has an amazing, versatile playlist...everything from the 2 o'clock jazz jump to the 4:20 tour memories playing live recordings of all kinds. Also lots of folk and appalachain tunes, anyway, it's great to listen to during the workday because I never get bored with it or hear the same song twice! www.wncw.org.

I listen to quite a few stations on the internet. I use to listen to radio stations over seas. I’ve been listening to KKJZ Jazz out of California and on occasions RacketRadio.

Nugrass, I dig those new NPR stations that play Fantastic stuff by recent artists.

I do liosten to Internet radio a lot lately. I prefer the Oldies and Blues stuff from 44-66. Found an all Mod radio station, a great one called Electric Lemonade (Psychedelic 60's punk) and been searching out some fantastic Rockabilly, Surf, and old classic soul

The only radio iv'e been listening to recently is Johnnie Walker's " Sounds of the 70's" on Radio 2 from 3-5pm on sunday afternoons. He usually has a featured album from the period and plays 3 tracks, also a celebrity interview with them on about their time in the seventies and influences at the time and people can get requests. You do get a mixture.

I am an internet DJ too. I own the station ShockWave. We have been around for about 5 years now. We play all types of music. It is pretty much the DJs choice.

I love internet radio, especially since I've stopped hoarding MP3s.

Big Up Radio for reggae
DubstepFM for dubstep
Digitally Imported Radio - Lounge, Tribal House, Dubstep, D'nB, Latin House, and Breaks stations
Digital Gunfire for industrial/EBM
SomaFM for the Secret Agent station (downtempo, lounge, and spy music) and Suburbs of Goa station (Eastern-inspired electronic music).

I'm still mourning the demise of Technicolor Web Of Sound. Psychedelicized radio just doen't match up to that.

I have been listening to SKY-FM jazz station out of the UK...they have lots of celebrity host, like most recently, Huge Groove, Incognito, Eric Roberson, John Legend ...it's 24/7 the best in contemporary, fusion, classic, and some bebop..and swing...I also have the app on my smart phone...fantastic. There is also a Smooth Jazz Lounge which has been newly added...along with spotlight entertainers such as Miles Davis, Thelonias Monk, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Wes Montgomery, Cannon Ball Addely, etc. Yes, I love some jazz..

Then theres Pandora where I can listen to what they play or build a playlist of my own..love it.
