Less sunlight in winter the cold can cause depression in some people .... I dont like the winter i hybernate as much as i can . Isee the signs of spring already little crocuses in my garden it makes me smile little dafodiles poping through the soil .. soon our days will be longer we will have light in the morning .. My mood instantly picks up . I gain weight in winter falls of as soon as spring hits as i love the out doors ... Do you notice a diffrence in mood with the seasons ...

I think everyone suffers from seasonal anxiety disorder, at some level.? The last few days have been great, bright sunshine even though it has been a bit chilly. I have definately noticed other people appearing more happy? Maybe its all in my mind?

Oh yes! Most people when the weather is dull are a bit luck lustre and a feel a little dull themselves..then as soon as the sun peeps out from between the clouds it seems to lift most people's moods.
Well I can speak for myself there.

I'm not sure about actual 'winter blues' but i'm sure it should be called 'winter grey'..or winter..it get's dark too early.

Roll on the summer!!

^^^ Snap! Up until a few years ago.

Then I got invited to the warmer climate of South China for a holiday one winter and realised I'd rather be sitting in the sunshine in my shorts and t-shirt than sitting at home, not wanting to go out in the cold and miserable weather of the UK.
Providing there's nothing going on in my life at the time, (wish there was!), every winter I come back here to escape the gloom for a few months.

Swimming in the sea, BBQ's on the beach, cheap living, scantily clad women everywhere …... shame I don't fancy Asian women!

I'm S.A.D. No more.

P.S. Why vote to delete this thread? What's going on now? S.A.D. g!ts!

I find that 5000iu of Vitamin D3 every day helps massively with this. Its pretty cheap for a years supply too from iHerb.

Definately!
This is my 1st winter in the UK for 10yrs now as I have been lucky enough to get away for the winter months - but I have decided to try and settle in England now - and have been here for the whole winter apart from 6 weeks in Jan / Feb.
Im definately feeling S - A - D!
Im not sure if anyone likes winter and would be curious to find out why!
It would be different if it were snow covered mountains with bright sunshine - but the dark, grey wet cold is just depressing!
Bring on the summer!

Seasonal Adjustment Disorder...Definite sufferer here. Want to hibernate so bad during winter. lou lou's attitude is a great one but i just can't wait for spring and summer. Brightens me right up. Even the rain is warmer, and less chance of slipping on one's arris

No winter blues here, the scraping of ice off the car and the nightmare of a couple of days of snow does to the transport network are the only downsides for me and fat better than having to wear sunnies, shorts, stupid hat for my bald head, sun cream and being too bloody hot to actually do anything.
Autumn/spring though has to be the best seasons and love the ever changing british climate then.

I have a car with a grey coloured sun strip on top of windsreen put there by VW.

On days when it is overcast and drizzling I am certain the grey suntint adds to the feeling of gloom and despair. It makes me want to go home and sleep for a hundred years.

There is something comforting about shutting the curtains when it gets dark and feeling all cosy but I like the light nights . Dont suffer from winter blues really.

I definitely get more lethargic in winter, but you can't beat a proper cold sunny day. Well you can, a proper hot and sunny day is better but you take what you get ;)

Not so keen on dull, cold, damp days and the dark evenings are rubbish, especially if you have an indoor job like my last one. I wouldn't get to see the sun for 2 months and I defy anyone to say that that doesn't suck.
