A breach in the surrounding fence allowed us access to this "nudist spot" where a few hundred use to meet on sunny day. Free for all, lots of drinking and smoking. We would dive from an outcrop.
__Most of us would be nude. In time we got quite used to it and no one took notice that this or that girl or guy was naked.

I'm a fan of nudist beaches in theory but in reality they are a bit different. Most of my experiences are with Wreck Beach near UBC in Vancouver, a famous nudist beach in BC. Being near a university, you might imagine nubile young women playing volleyball on white sand but in reality there are rather mundane, often kind of dirty and sweaty, men and women going about their business. If there is a beautiful woman basking in the sunshine, there will be at least one big fat guy standing over her with his binoculars. In the August heat, due to the frequent urination, the entire place takes on a kitty litter kind of smell. Then there is the dark side of the area....very creepy, especially at night.
Can be good fun though too - don't get me wrong. | |

Posted: 7/19/2005 9:48:46 PM | probably to some extent (in my case at least) it has to do with our North American mentality....I spent a month in Portugal a few years ago, where going topless is very common on the beaches. When I say North American mentality....I don't consider myself a prude by ANY means but....I was a little uncomfortable seeing the young teenage girls (ie, I mean 14-15 years old) there topless, not because I care if they were topless at all, but with drooling way-older men hovering around them? Like I said, different cultures...to the people living there it was normal, but I just found it very different, to see men in their 30s or 40s or even their 60s approaching these women and hitting on them....mainly tourists getting a cheap thrill out of a topless beach, but I just couldn't help thinking, what if that was my daughter and these men were doing that to her? I'm totally comfortable with my own body and have no problem with nudity....it was just weird for me, realizing how different cultures have different views on what we consider "acceptable" is all. And I highly doubt I would go with my own father and take my bikini top off in front of him at a topless beach...but that's just me.
And ya, risque sex with a chance of getting "caught" is totally cool! | |
