HONORING OUR ARMED FORCES

Cover Charge: $3.00
NOTE: Although the theme is anything associated with the armed forces (army, navy, marines, etc.)...It is totally OPTIONAL....Dress is casual and it isn't a requirement. BUT REMEMBER: You can dress up as much or as little as you want although the wearing of clothes is a MUST!
We thought that it would be nice to honor our service men and women who put their lives in danger by protecting us as individuals and our country as a whole. There is probably a family member or a friend(s) that each one of us knows or have known who has participated in a tour of duty or presently in a tour of duty that we are very proud of. Why don’t we show our appreciation and support for each one by wearing colors that represent the military of your choosing.
Those that participate by wearing colors that represent a particular military service will receive a ticket to be entered into a drawing for a door prize. If you bring a friend who has actively participated in the military or is on leave and visiting, bring them along and receive an additional ticket for the drawing. We imagine that they need a night to relax and unwind. What better way than to join us for a great night to honor our service men and women.
AS A REMINDER……this theme of dress is optional. Casual dress is definitely in for the evening, but wear what is comfortable for you. HOWEVER…..IF ONE OF OUR MILITARY GUESTS WANT TO GUSSY UP FOR THE OCCASION, WE WOULD BE HONORED BY THEIR PRESENCE. IF WE DO HAVE SOME GUESTS, PLEASE THANK THEM FOR THEIR DEDICATION IN THEIR SERVICE NO MATTER WHAT BRANCH OF THE MILITARY THAT THEY REPRESENT.

I don't have any Army clothes, but I can definitely come up with Red, White & Blue. There aren't many patriotic songs appropriate for a dance, but "Proud to be an American " & "Born in the USA" come to mind....Really hope I can be there.  ...and I do confess - I kind of like uniforms  Way to go ladies ! | |

My family has known up close and personal what war can do to a military person as well as their family. So....this is in honor of my first cousin, Philip, who was like a brother to me. I had 3 uncles in the Invasion at Normandy as well as the Battle of the Bulge ( and I don't mean they were on a diet - never liked that used as a joke )...Of course all those our age have known many or been related to Viet Nam & Desesrt Storm Vets. Many probably have sons or loved ones in the Mideast now - they need to know they are appreciated..  I hope you have a way of letting them know what you're doing.  | |

A son who served in the Navy during Desert Storm, an Uncle killed in Korea and a great friend killed in Viet Nam. Kuddo's to these who served this great USA!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone in different colors whether it be red, white and blue, army green, navy blue and white, or whatever. On that note, if you are a new  trying to figure out whether or not to show up, don't give it a second thought. What better way to try your first POF party than to show support for our armed forces. We would love to have you. As I have said before, we are a fun lovin' bunch who just like to have fun. Lady Cane, Lady Gator and I are the nuts of our gang. If we can get up there to dance, cut up and make fools, you can too. We have a blast and you can too. As one of our mottos is.....It is what you make of it!!! Cookie and I will be at the door until 8:30. So....make sure you get there in time to get your ticket(s), have fun and enjoy yourselves. | |

I am looking forward to seeing all the sea of colors for this theme. I also hope we have a great turn out. So.....bring a friend or a bunch of friends and make a night of it. These parties are for you to enjoy and meet new people. Don't be a wall hugger, a seat warmer or hide in the corner. We are just plain good folks that like to get together and have a little fun and relaxation as well as visit with each other. So..........put on one, two or a bunch of colors to represent out country's military men and women. On that note......you know what I am about to do............if you are going to indulge, please have a DD on stand by, get a room (POF discounts apply), or let one of us call you a cab. The party is what you make it, so get up and ,  , and have a good time. If you are new and a little anxious, there are so many people who will welcome you, but YOU have to make that initial move to meet and make friends. You won't be turned away! And, you never know who might be waiting on you to say hello. These parties provide you with a safe venue for meeting people, for just having a good time. And, you're never alone.

Posted: 5/20/2011 8:59:17 AM | I hate to be a pest, but this party is still not showing on the front of my inbox. That might explain the low sign-up numbers... It is problematic to explain how to find it - for those who live beyond the 10 mi invit radius.
Can someone write to the "Big fish" ? I'm seeing parties a week away in Jacksonvillle - but not this one in my own backyard.
I've got 2 more Sailors coming don't know why I mostly know Navy men.
Would it be out of line to invite a married couple just this once ? They will stay together & not dance . They probably won't come, but he is a very dear friend who risked his life placing explosives while diving during Desert Storm. A very unappreciated ( by most ) soldier who spent the last 30 days of his duty on the ground in a house-to-house, "kill-or be killed" situation. He needs to know how we feel.

Glad to hear you and your lovely lady are coming this evening as it is always a pleasure to see the two of you. Debido, not sure what you are seeing but the party shows up on my front page and has for the past week or more so not sure what is going on with your computer. You're also welcome to bring your married friends and they are welcome to dance versus just sitting if they prefer as we want everyone to have fun.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far and can't wait to see everyone this evening. I have a prior engagement that I can't stay the entire evening - (need to be in attendance for a party my son is having at my house this evening and the more adults the better) but I will be there to check in as I normally am and will be there for a while getting everyone's pictures - also if anyone has a camera and wants to help out in the picture department, please bring it, snap away and help capture the memories!!!!
