| ladies what are your thoughts about guys asking you out at work? Posted: 7/20/2005 9:44:34 PM | It can be a bit of an awkward situation I think........it depends on the work atmosphere......are you in side by side cubicles, or do you happen to run into one another in the office from time to time? My only hesitation at dating someone from work would be........that it would spread like wildfire. BUT having said that, I've sometimes worked in environments where 90% of the employees were male......it was a male dominated industry. I made a decision very quickly not to date anyone within work, I think it would have been asking for trouble down the road.....JMO | |

I often use rental cars and I always deal with the same company. Recently the new manager at the rental place asked me to go out with him. I said "no", politely (yet he was still overly persistent)...but now I don't know what to expect the next time I rent a car. Will he give me a Jaguar to butter me up or will he give me a Rio, low on oil and a flat tire? Hmmmm that is bad enough...I sure wouldn't want someone at WORK having any of that type of possible power, resentment, or need to conquer me, or other motives concerning me. Hell no.

Hmmm, girls that are actually 'at' work, and you ask them out as such...... Alright, I get you now, same page, brain is whirring....
You know what I would do? I would simply say, "Hey you know, I'm aware that you probably have a policy about accepting dates from strange men while you're working.....but......I'd like to leave my number/card/email/whatever works, for you...and when you're not working, if you'd like to use it, I'd like for you to use it too."
What do you think? Is it workable? (no pun intended!)

It depends on what the relationship is (is he co-worker; boss, or your employee). If the relationship heads south, it can be very akward. Also, some companies don't tolerate it, so before you jump in, make sure your company doesn't have a policy on it. You've got to keep business to business at work, and leave the personal at home.

| ladies what are your thoughts about guys asking you out at work? Posted: 7/23/2005 5:48:01 AM | That is a touchy one. For me, if it is someone in my direct line of work, then no, probably not. Because, what happens if you break up? You still have to work with that person every day. As well, a lot of employers frown upon interoffice relationships.
Ifyou are serious about doing this, then you both need to sit down and discuss the pros and cons of whatever may happen in the future.
