Iv had a girl or two do that. Its because they are insecure. How is this insecure?
I'd say it's inappropriate if it's a constant, but to remark on a pleasing physical attribute of someone is certainly not insecure, I feel it's natural. I also remark on a woman that is physically appealing...
I think men are too sensitive when it comes to appreciating beauty...

Some women (and men) does it not out of disrespect, but out of consideration; simply been thoughtless as too self oriented or even self centered.
But on the other hand, don't jump to the barricade too every time she does, as it will also mean that there is some insecurities from your part.
So talk to her about it and also be tolerant; and if that bother you so much or that she does it too often (and don't care), dump that do-do. | |

Do you honestly believe you are better looking then movie stars? Come on now you are pulling my tail right? You have serious security issues my friend. My ex would bump me and point out really hot women that walked into a restaurant and she could say whatever she wanted about a hot guy that walked in also. Because I knew she loved me and she was going home with ME... And she knew I was going home with her. Geez I thought the old saying was it was like being on a diet. You can look at the menu all you want but you just can't order.
And you have problems about your GF commenting that a movie star is hot? (cowboy holds face in palms) It is not disrespectful. When she starts screaming out Brad Pitt's name and making you wear a paper bag over your head with a picture of Brad Pitt taped on it when you have sex THAT would be disrespectful. (long sigh...)
You need to lighten up a little. If I was your GF I would be kidding you about it and calling you "Brad" all the next morning at breakfast just joking about it. Sounds like your going to lose another GF over silly jealousy issues.

I have long observed, that females in general have a common tendency to comment on the appearance of EVERYONE around them. That includes men, women, girls and boys. It often seems to spring from some encouragement they've received to learn about how to make themselves look better through comparisons.
There also seems to be a social component to it, wherein it is a part of their apparent urge to GET PEOPLE TOGETHER. Like a collie I once owned, who had an innate urge to herd all my children and their friends into a group, like sheep, a lot of women I've known seem to have had an innate urge to get people to link up. Therefore they will often comment about how this or that person is very attractive, and should therefore have a mate with them.
If yours were following this pattern, then their pointing out other attractive guys was NOT because THEY wanted to be with them, it was because they wanted to see everyone around them get together with someone else. I heard someone else theorize that subconsciously, people who DO want to see to it that others link up, are actually doing so in order to protect the sanctity of their own pairing, by seeing to it the others don't chase after THEIR mate.
But it could simply be the same reason I've witnessed thoughtless GUYS comment on hot women around them, in front of THEIR dates: just lunkheads, who are so intent on mate-hunting, that they forget they are actually WITH a potential mate. | |

Geez, can't people just make a simple comment if someone is good looking? Like men do not do it? It does not mean anyone is cheating or thinking about it, now THAT is insecure to think that way.
If she is saying " okay Dave here is another one that looks better?" Yes, that is lame. But do not be one of these jealous men who cannot handle a compliment. If someone points out a good looking woman, I can agree. It does not mean I am gay or he is cheating.

I have found myself doing the same thing with girls iv dated about other girls. I noticed it bothered my current gf so I kept my comments to myself. I honesly feel that when you and your spouse are together you both should keep your comments to yourself. If your girl can't put a lid on it every now and then,and its a constant thing,I still say leave her. You don't deserve to be belittled like that. And if someone really cares about you like that they would respect the fact it bothers you and keep it to themselves. | |

Two women, five guys for a chick flick. One woman, fourteen guys for a gangster movie. One woman, twenty guys, for a documentary.
Even in X rated movies, it's usually one woman, and up to five guys around her, in various athletically looking arrangements.
Movies fall short of erotical-aesthetic viewing enjoyment when you are a guy, if your aim is to see some beautiful persons. That's why chicks tell their dates which guy they like the best on the screen in front of them. The girls just become a kid in a candy store, after being presented with one gorgeous guy after another. No human can withstand that much sexual pressure and stay quiet about it. | |

Then stated they could not keep their hands off each other. She had no boundaries. That was a issue. That is among the valid reasons she is an ex wife. Your concern is something a fairly normal women will do. In fact I would not be the least bit offended. Hell if the women I was with did not think Ben Afleck was not better looking then me I might question her. Lighten up man. It's a movie!! They are actors and supposed to get those reactions. The Bible is a volume of 66 books, written by 40 divinely inspired authors over a period of 2000 years. Although there is no volume I or II there is a Old Testament and a New Testament. The New being the fulfillment of the Old yet not accepted by those who do not accept Jesus of Nazareth as the promised Messiah of the Old Testament.
Probably more info than you wanted to know.

It's just an example of "cult of celebrity" and obsession with pop culture, …maybe you'd be better off taking a date to an art gallery where "Oh look how beautiful he is" can be parsed as a statement of artistic imagery.
They both are examples of imagery, nothing more, nothing less.

It was Valentine's Day and we were watching the Dana Carvey movie Master of Disguise. Along comes (on the screen) your stereotypical beautiful woman... blonde hair, blue eyes, thin as a rail, big boobs...
And my boyfriend at the time says "Man she's HOT!"
I said "Hello.. sitting right here!"
He says "You say things like that all the time!"
I said "No, I'll say he has like nice hair, or I like his shirt" Which is true. I don't think it's right to comment on people like that in front of your significant other.
So then the lightbulb goes off above my head and I ask my ex "So if that's the kind of woman you find attractive, how can you be physically attracted to me?" Seeing as I'm short, fat, brunette...
He looks at me and says "There's hot, and then there's attainable."
OUCH.

It really depends on how it is said. Or perhaps I have just matured, but years ago my partner would comment on celebrities all the time and it really bothered me. I haven't really thought about whether it was because they were celebrities or if it was my insecurities.
Fast forward to 5 years ago where a man I was dating would comment on women while we were out and about and it didn't bother me.
I note however that the two men did it quite differently. The first was often "she's hot" or make some gestures or faces or noises to indicate that, whereas the second was "she dances really well", "she looks good" "she's pretty" "I like that look".
The 2nd guy seemed to be talking more WITH me about the women and wanting a conversation vs. the first guy simply making a statement.
Again, I could be wrong.
I hate celebrity comparisons. Their job is to look good, they spend half the day working on that. Us real people just do not have that time or money. Most of us wouldn't want to really date a celebrity anyway.
He looks at me and says "There's hot, and then there's attainable."
Nice. We all know stuff like that when it comes to celebs, but I would never say that to someone I loved. I find that comment mean and unnecessary. There is a way to say things with tact and I think the 2nd guy in my example had that. | |
