* Made-from-scratch spicy tom-yum soup
* Steak & kidney pie with colcannon and steamed veg
* Eve's pudding with sultanas and warm vanilla custard

Not, I hasten to add, all three in one sitting.

A chicken casserole is as wintery as I get or a roast. All that winter food like stew and pie make me want to hurl.

We still have salad in the winter in this house... I do like a hot pudding occasionally but as my son isn't that keen we don't have them often.

lots of curry is good fa the winter nights.ma ex lassie couldnt eat prawns cos they made her ill.so when i use to go oot for a chinese take away id always order chicken fried rice and curry sauce.chips and a pancake roll for myself.and then id order beef chow mein with chips for my lassie.but id always ask the chinky guy to throw a few prawns into the chow mein.so then when i got back to the hoose my lassie wouldnt eat the chow mein.she would just have the chips.and id end up with the chicken fried rice.curry sauce.pancake roll.beef chow mein and chips for myself.

Ohh yes, we do have curries all year round but in winter they are especially nice and are warming.
I love Chinese too but I wouldn't contaminate someone elses food with something they didn't like so I could scoff it ha ha!!

Right about now pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, roast pumpkin, pumpkin curry, pumpkin on toast.Gotta start using the 137 squashes piled in the shed!

Other than that....... lentil soup, roasted root veg, bangers and mash, chilli, Irish Stew, baked spuds,yorkshire pudding, homity pie, proper baked beans. Sometimes in the winter we just have a pudding for dinner.

this one is great for those cold winter nights, marinade a chicken breast in piri piri and olive oil for the day, then slice it open and stuff it with cheese that has finely chopped chilis in it. then wrap the whole thing in smokey bacon and cook it in the oven. i like it with butter beans and jacket potato

Whilst steaming a treacle pudding, I thought i would see what others like to eat to warm themselves up of a winter. I cannot abide custard so more warm golden syrup for me. . . Anyone for afters?
