its the only song I've ever known to become more popular over each passing year.

Every child knew the words and all 15 of them sang along to John Lennon. I'm sure he would have loved it. (She went to a wonderful school.)

| 40 years ago this week Posted: 10/25/2011 1:26:05 PM | I can't remember where or when I first heard it, has long been a fave of mine. I do remember one cold December night my father woke me up urgently to come watch the TV. Monday Night Footbal, NE vs. MIA, Howard Cossell," In the end, this is only a game. We have more important things to talk about. A few hours ago John Lennon was shot four times out side his apartment in New York city....." | |

| 40 years ago this week Posted: 10/30/2011 10:14:54 AM | about this week in time it had moved into the top five, imagine didn't hang around long. the album did make it to number 1.
a friend had told me that a track from john lennons new album was being played every 30 minutes on the radio. it was true "its so hard" i thought wow sounds like cold turkey and i was a little disappointed. then it was jealous guy, then imagine, you wouldn't believe what type of radio i had.
and to say the least my life was never the same

| 40 years ago this week Posted: 10/30/2011 11:50:03 AM | | This song always reminds me of that episode of WKRP in Cincinnati where the religious guy didn't want them to play the song on their station because of the line " Imagine there's no Heaven " | |

| 40 years ago this week Posted: 10/31/2011 4:05:57 AM | Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try No people below us, above it's only sky Imagine all the people Living for today
Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do No need to kill or die for and no religions too Imagine all the people Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one
Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger a brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing for the world
You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one
You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one Take my hand and join us And the world will live, will live as one
