| | Is the Tiger of old back on the prowl lately?Page 1 of 1 | With Tiger coming in 3rd at the Australian Open, just 2 strokes behind winner, Greg Chalmers and then making the winning point in the Presidents Cup with a tremendous round, do you think he is on his way back?
Yes, he was a lousy husband and destroyed his image as a wonderful roll model for kids and adults alike, the clean-cut, All-American, Golden Boy of Gold. But you have to admit he was the one for the huge increase in popularity in both playing and watching golf.
I never would bother watching golf until Tiger was just about to turn pro. I use to think of watching golf about as exciting as watching paint dry and I'd tease my dad about how he could stare at the tv and watch grown men hitting a little ball with a stick all day while commentators whispered. Now, if there is a tournament that Tiger is playing in, I make sure I watch it. If he isn't in it, I don't bother. As many great newcomers as there are in golf nowadays, NO ONE can grab my attention like Tiger does.
I'm aching to see the Tiger of old and last night there were glimpses of him here and there. And when he won the winning point for the Americans, it seemed prophetic. Hopefully, Tiger is back on the prowl and will once again claw his way to the top of the rankings.
What do you think of his chances? Or do you think his time has come and gone.?

Also he had heaps of help from his mates in the match play format of the Presidents Cup. I'll think of Tiger as on his way back to the top if he ever wins one at home and a major in the same year again.

I think the whole debacle with Stevie Williams is STILL having a slight impact on his performance. All in all though he's a has been now.

I was hoping like Hell that it'd be over before his match was involved...OR...that he'd Lose the clinching point for the World team..! And it has nothing to do with his personal life...or the way he treated Stevie.... It's really The way the ~World-Rankings~ are set-up..!! Two hundred and Eighty One Weeks at #1...?? What a complete Farce..!!! It puts NO Value on Major tournaments..!!!

He is very consistent only in that he seems to have one good round for every 3 bad rounds now. Greg Chalmers would have wet himself back in the day with Tiger on his heels. The intimidation is gone, which was so much a part of his success. Winning is the only thing that can get that back for Tiger, and thus far, he does not appear to be consistent enough to do so. The "new" swing doesn't look very good at all. That "dip" and loss of spine angle have been killing him. Those orthopedic looking shoes he wears now have me wondering how much is left of his body. Pumping up the upper body in an attempt to achieve power as the legs just can't provide it anymore.

Hopefully, he can go through the remainder of the tournament without a lousy round. If he keeps playing like he has been these last two days, especially today, he might just win it. It would be so good to see the Tiger of old on top again... no pun intended!

It was terrific to see them both head to head throughout the round. And it's nice to see Tiger finally get his first win after two years (the 2009 Australian Masters). Hopefully, he'll climb his way back up the rankings and again be number 1. He sure has help elevate the game.

Even with 2 wins, this year...he doesn't deserve the ranking he has!! **** It's another Topic, but... The Genuine "World #1" just won The U.S. Open..!!! It should be an *Automatic* ranking....otherwise....what is the _Value_ of a _M_A_J_O_R_...!!!

He is the best golfer in the world, he is gonna go down as the best golfer EVER.
What happened to Rory?....all I heard was he was gonna "challenge" Tiger....He isnt even in the same universe as Tiger.
This is off the top of my head...I believe Tiger has only missed 6 cuts in his entire career. The majority of golfer miss two cuts A YEAR.
Hate him if you want...He just has set the bar so high, it cant be reached anymore...
