I have been wondering for awhile now if men naturally like to be naked and hate clothes? I've found guys would rather not wear pants if they do not have to or shirts to for that matter. Is this a natural thing or does it only apply to some men? Are there men who do like to wear clothes?
I am looking at this as a general question not based on the weather or day or circumstance a guy may be in. Please help me understand and figure this out.

I know this is ask a guy... but its been my experience that EVERYONE likes to be naked... not just men... I'm not talking about being an exhibitionist or anything here... but I think everyone likes a nude stroll around the privacy of their own house every once in a while.

I think it's a reflection of the general difference in mental states between men and women.

Men are openly aggressive, show their intent pretty much all the time. They want to run, jump and breed. Clothes get in the way. Hygiene is a bother. Men are proud of their bodies and are anxious to show off their prowess, and nakedness facilitates this.

Women are cautious and secretive, even to other women. They don't want anyone to know when they are ovulating, or to whom they are attracted until they are ready to mate. Clothes, soap, and perfumes hide all that.

These are generalizations and societal customs or personal habits will vary, of course. If a guy's nakedness bothers you, tell him to put something on.

Nah!! We naturally like pretty women to be naked. Which is why those cute PETA girls who would rather be naked than wear furs hasn't clued-in (yet) that their protest ... isn't much of a protest.

Wait... REALLY? So am I the ONLY woman who proudly buys tampons in bulk, holding them high above my head as I stroll down the aisle at the local Rite Aid?

Ha ha ... well , yes , of course we like to wear clothes .
To be honest , I'm not sure I've ever seen what you're talking about . It's situational I guess . I suppose that to most men , as long as they're covering their naughty bits , that's good enough .
Perhaps you can elaborate a little though ?

You mean you live in a place where the men walk around in their birthday suits?

Where I live, women and men don't wear a lot of clothing because...it is hot (Tomorrow will be 80 degrees F or 26 degrees C). Not gender specific honestly.

My ex liked being naked or only in boardshorts ALL THE TIME. And he had to sleep naked..said any clothes, even boxers, was uncomfortable (and no, not just when I was around)... He also ran really hot, so while I'm freezing under a blanket, he'd be sitting there wearing nothing. Didn't bother me one bit tho as he wasn't bad to look at!

And as someone else said, I love walking arnd naked when home alone sometimes too! I just get cold a lot easier...

"Hate clothes"?....No
"Like to be naked".... Yes.

Naked is comfortable, clothing can be comfortable, but why wear clothing if you don't have to wear clothing.

I've found guys would rather not wear pants

Ya, I would be alright with a redesign of mens clothing.

Is this a natural thing or does it only apply to some men?

I would say its a natural thing.

Are there men who do like to wear clothes?

Absolutely. As there are men [and women too] who should wear clothes as often as possible.

I walk around in my boxers, and if I have to go out in public I'll throw on basketball shorts.

Clothes suck. They're restricting. Men tend to be sweatier and have dirtier jobs and tendencies, so our clothes get nasty pretty quick. Oh and wearing clothes leads to laundry.... boring! I prefer some boxer briefs while inside during the summer. Sleep naked or keep the bbs on, either way is comfy.

Personally I like wearing Jackets and Pants, I love it when it's cold. I never wear shorts unless playing football or basketball.

As far as the shirt goes, yes, guys like to take their shirts off in the summer time. I think it is something we pickup as teenagers and (body permitting) will do it later in life too.

As far as being totally naked, they are most likely hoping the women they are with will follow suit and be naked with them. I suppose if you can't be naked with someone you are in a relationships with it is probably not much of a relationship.

SO funny you bring this up now! I have a guy friend who LOVES walking around naked. In fact, he loves it so much he started a business called the Naked Electrician Seems quite popular as he has plenty of business so far...

He quite literally comes to your house and fixes anything you need while being naked the whole time...And I don't mean boxers, I'm talkin the full monty!

Hey to each their own right??

things were different back in the day.... guys used to always go shirtless anywheres...

not quite as accepted now as it used to be.

hell I remember dad dropping me off at school with a pair of jeans on and no shirt...

we alll had to get out on his side of the vehicle in front of the school - so he'd get out all shirtless and hairy...

no way a dad could get away with that these days...

I prefer to be clothed.
I don't like my bait and tackle (whisper penis and testicles) flopping around, it's uncomfortable.
I also like wearing clothes because they have pockets. I like to put things in pockets.
Pockets are useful.
I also don't like sweat or ass stains on my furniture. I don't like going over to someone's home and thinking "you know, they are naked all the time, so their ass and crotch was all over this furniture," so I try to reciprocate the respect by wearing some form of clothing on my own furniture.
I don't want to picture my grandma making cookies for me naked. And I don't want people to worry about anything I make them having chest hair in it.
I like my feet protected so like to wear shoes.
I would "prefer" to run around almost naked, with like a pair of boxer briefs, shoes, and a little belt with pockets attached. But I want to put out there what I would like back.

So

Is this a natural thing or does it only apply to some men?

I don't know. I don't hang out with a lot of naked men or ask "hey, Joe, you like being naked? I mean do you prefer being naked to wearing clothes? Wanna come over and watch that new gladiator movie?"

Are there men who do like to wear clothes?

I like to wear clothes.
I know some men who like to wear women's clothes, and women that like to wear men's clothes, and some people that like their pets to wear clothes.
I like to wear suits. Even with boots. I like to wear coats. Especially on boats. I like to wear a shirt. While playing in the dirt. I like wearing hats. I don't like cats.

We are born naked into the world, thus it must be natural to want to be naked right?

Assuming there is no immediate need to satisfy social convention, then I do enjoy being free of clothes, or at very least I'll wear a house robe.

not really its winter and about zero degrees here so not really an aoption
Nudity does not bother me an I tend to sleep naked. I may wander around my own house naked but that is all. I dont think I would sit around naked with my girlfriend unless she was too and it was before , during or after tbh..

I agree with BoonDockSaint that it was more socially acceptable for men to run around shirtless in the past. Not sure why that changed, but it did.

And I agree with carptopus about protecting the furniture. My preference is running around inside the house in shorts (usually gym shorts, sometimes just boxers).
