It's in the art of the tongue and lips, not in the skeletal system at all. Your girl friend needs to see her GP or dentist and consider surgery. It worked for me. | |

Posted: 1/18/2012 6:11:52 AM | Poor gal.. I have TMJ also and it is very painful at times. When I am having a rough time with it, my jaw will often lock up or dislocate itself as the swelling will push it out of place. Quite frankly you may have to learn to live with out having her perform oral on you. In the mean time you can try different positions to reduce the stress on her jaw, neck, facial muscles. Try sitting on the edge of the bed with her kneeling before you so that she is not tipping her head back as much. Never push her head down and for heavens sake hold still and let her control the motions.
I assume she has been seen by her GP / PCP/Dentist/Chiropractor? Have they tried to treat it with an anti inflammatory? Has she considered surgery? BTW the surgery is expensive and not guaranteed to work and can sometimes make it worse.
As for the posters who think that she is using it as an excuse.. umm.. its possible, but most likely if she hurts from just laughing or yelling.. I am guessing she isn't.

C'mon...didn't you ever watch Macgyver?
There's tons of stuff you can do.
You have a dog? And some peanut butter? Just use that, close your eyes, and have your girlfriend make the sound effects.
Or use her lipstick and paint lips on your lubed hand.
Or get a fleshlight with a mouth on it.
Or make your own jell-o mold.
Or go down to the local gloryhole...it's not cheating if it's an anonymous dude, then it's just the same as a numb hand.
There's also tomatoes.
Find a gym with a whirpool hot tub and use the water jet nozzle.
You could always get publicly drunk and go to jail, someone there will probably take care of you.

It's very sad to me personally to think that you would want to introduce another person into your love life when you are suppose to love each other.

Posted: 1/18/2012 7:22:51 AM | "TMJ" is merely the name of the jaw joint, the TemporoMandibular Joint or Temporal-Mandibular Joint. The problem you have is TMJ "Dysfunction", and "dysfunction" can have many meanings and causes. The pain in the joint can be caused by injury, overuse (like giving too much head, hahahaha), grinding the teeth at night, misaligned teeth, muscle spasms. Or a combination of the above.
There are different ways to treat TMJ. A dentist can fit you for a mouthguard that holds your jaw in the right position. Or you might need orthodontic treatment. Chiropractic treatment can help realign the skeletal framework, and physical therapy and massage therapy can also help reduce the inflammation and relax the muscles around the joint that cause pain.
Bottom line is, there is treatment available. It really should not be a long-term excuse for not keeping their man happy  | |

It relieves the pressure and keeps me from having wicked migranes.
Sometimes I have a hard time eating because chewing can become very painful.
Has it stopped me from giving head? Heck NO! This is ME we are talking about...
