| | What is the shortest date you have hadPage 1 of 3 (1, 2, 3) | Assuming that you actually met the other person and they didn't take one look at you and run past you, what is the shortest date you have had. Mine was the lovely lady who met me for a coffee then declared that she had only met me for coffee because she was travelling to see her friend and I was on route. I think she wished she had not ordered hot coffee !! | |

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 1:28:00 AM | I've had a few where I've left within about 5 to 10 minutes and a couple where the girl has left after the same amount of time.
In all instances its just been a pretty quick realisation, that we weren't going to click on any level. So not point wasting any more time on them/me.

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 2:57:16 AM | i agree ^^^
she will admire you much more if you make personal contact rather than through an email.. contrary to popular belief, most women actually prefer real life interaction...
i think you should shove your willy through her letter box... ask her if she would mind giving it a lick so you can attach your stamp...
ot my dates are never very quick... ive never done the "you aren't my type" line and ended the meeting early... im quite polite and respectful of other peoples feelings so i just sit it out and grind my teeth until the bitter end...
having said that though... i never arrange more than a coffee meet so an hour is my limit anyway...

Msg below I do pal. I deliver straight too her door. you were right first time round. i'm leaving it sadly

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 4:50:01 AM | I've never been on a date shorter than a couple of hours. Even if there's no spark between us, we can still enjoy each other's company and chat a bit over drinks and/or a meal.
For me, dating can be about more than just 'finding the one', it can also be about meeting new people and being social, possibly making some new friends.
I can't imagine walking out after 5-10 minutes, especially if we've both gone to the trouble to get dressed up and travel for the date. Surely someone's company can't be THAT bad!!!???

They say there 42 more like 57. But i still once we meant go for a drink. Sometimes i wonder why The shortest date i had was about 2 hrs. The longest was 9 hrs,

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 5:50:15 AM | I suppose the key factor in all my dates so far is that neither of us had blatantly lied about anything or deceived each other, so there wasn't any ill-will that would cause one of us to turn and walk out again.
The ability to attract honest people on here is definitely a plus!

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 7:20:21 AM | MSG 16 I don't think there is anything wrong with this dating lark. I think the only thing you have too look at is your judgement. Its all fun and games. Plus trying to get a hello is a major plus getting a date is even harder. Its too expensive going on loads off dates anyway. It does get boring after a while. Sometimes i'll rather just ride my bike and sit in the pub. | |

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 7:23:17 AM | | Back when I was in my mid twenties I had a blind date, she turned up with her mum, dad and 2 brothers, after about half an hour of completely being ignored I made an excuse and left. | |

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 7:29:48 AM | | When I was about 18 I really fancied this girl so summoned up the courage to knock on her door. Her mother opened it and invited me in....to the living room. Sit down... introduced me to her family. Then the girl walked in. Somehow she didn't want to see me !!! Hasty exit. | |

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 8:48:09 AM | Shortest date I have ever had lasted about 25 minutes. We met in Carpark of a Lesiure Park area intending to go for a coffee. It was poring down with rain and I had given him a description of my car. I parked up and was trying to look out car window through the rain when suddenly I heard a knock on my passenger side window. He opened car door and got in. The smell hit me instantly ( very poor personal hygeine ). He started chatting away and when i managed to get a word in, asked where he would like to go for coffee. Next minute he pulled out a flask from inside his large jacket he was wearing and said he had brought his own. At that moment I just wanted him out of my car but wasnt sure how he would react, so I politely accepted a coffee but only pretended to drink it ( could have been anything in it ) and made an excuse that it was too strong for my liking. Thankfully my mobile phone rang ( was just my sister wanting a blether, she didnt know I was on a date ). I pretended it was an emergency at home ( my sister couldnt understand why I was reacting to her phone call, the way i did ). Thankfully he accepted that I had to go and got out my car, but have to admit, as well as being the shortest date I have ever had, it was also the scariest. Have never ever gave a description of my car again when meeting up for a date. I e-mailed the guy later on that evening through the dating site we met on and told him I didnt think we clicked and just wished him well for the future. | |

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 9:12:08 AM | | one date was all I needed to make my mind up about a gentle lady. I do believe that if there is no chemistry at the very beginning hope immediately dies. | |

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 10:20:37 AM | i was quite shocked at julian's post i have never been on a date and she had brought the family eek!! haha. autumnleaves your tale of the guy who just stared at the bar made me laugh, sorry! That is quite strange i would of thought most people would think if they stood mute they would come across even more perculiar.
Good luck everyone, i certainly need it :)

| What is the shortest date you have had Posted: 2/7/2012 1:08:36 PM | 10 mins
I arrived, bought a drink. He told me he had something to tell me. He then told me he was married. I downed my drink and left. He chased me across the car park (I kid you not) trying to tell me what I was missing out on....
I told him to get over himself and said I would very much like to miss out on his wife chopping me to pieces with a meat cleaver to which he responded that she didn't understand him and they had no sex life. I then suggested he ought to put the time and effort he was putting into dating sites and wooing other women into his wife because he might be surprised because a) She started to understand him, b) might be wooed into sleeping with him, and c) it was likely he would be genuinely surprised by the results.
I then drove off leaving him open mouthed in the car park. I guess he hadn't been told no in quite that way before :-D I just wondered where he got off thinking I was *that* desperate!
