3rd date on Valentines Day, Any ideas?Page 1 of 1
I've gone out with this girl I met on here a couple times now. Our first meeting/date was at a sports bar where we sat, talked and watched the super bowl. It went well and we went out on a more formal date later that week, had a nice dinner and then went out on town. This is just the 3rd date so I don't want to over do it but I really want to come up with something that shows I put effort into this. I wanted to go ice skating but they close at 3?? So that's out. This is northern ohio so my options are limited this time of year lol

Avoid the restaurants like the plague unless you know people in the restaurant business and can get VIP treatment.

Instead of flowers or chocolate maybe get her a supersize container of her favorite candy?

At first I bought myself a 60oz thing of reeses peanut butter cups since I was going to spend Vday alone...

Amazon Prime means if you order by Sunday night it should be to you by Tuesday!

What's your budget? Fly out of Ohio and go somewhere that you can get a great meal/entertainment? Just kidding, I was in Columbus Ohio a few times years ago and it was fun...

Nice guy...planning a nice evening for Valentine 3rd date...

Restaurants are packed so go putt putt golfing or something indoors like chic flik movie ..then a drink afterwords?
(not all that romantic, I know..but its just the 3rd date) and its the thought that counts.

Have a great nite whatever you do!

ps do you have a dad? I need a Valentine date, lol... ok a grandad even??? LOL

You don't want to overdo it but on Valentines Day that isn't an option. I'd arrange it for a different night and treat it like a normal day. You won't be miles out of pocket afterwards not to mention the date will be nicer because you're not surrounded by a thousand other couples being all lovey dovey and noisy.

V Day is just commercial bollocks, I've never had a reason to celebrate it and even if I did, I'd avoid it and not succumb to the commercialism.

Since you've just started dating you do not want to overdo it. Take her to a chick flick. "The Vow" looks good. I saw "One for the Money" today and enjoyed it. You might enjoy this one - a chick flick with some action.

Tough call.....

Restaurants and are going to be packed full and insane.

Movie theaters and the cutesy fun things (indoor mini-golf and what not) are going to be packed full of teenagers impressing each other on dates.....

Short answer? I got nuthin!

Pick another day. You already dropped your pants. Try to rescue some dignity.

You could watch Drew Carry reruns all night. I forget the name of the show.

If you recognize the various parts of a stove (that big square box thing in the kitchen), make her a candle lit dinner (candles are mandatory-women love fire and flames). It will save you a ton of money compared going to a restaurant.

Only if you already have the cooking skills, fire insurance, spices, and stuff to actually cook said romantic dinner.

I've easily spent more on dinners than it would cost to go out and eat said dinner in a nice restaurant.

That and having to do dishes? Meh, I'll pay through the nose just to avoid dishes.

But really, OP do you have any Whitecastles or Waffle Houses nearby?

It's a good way to see how much she likes you, plus I've always wanted to do Whitecastle or Waffle House for valentines day... SO ROMANTIC.

I work in a restaurant and let me tell you, there's nothing romantic about it on Valentines Day. Its jammed, noisy, youre server will be in a rush and the food will take longer. Maybe go to the store together, both of you shop for ingredients, grab a bottle, go home and cook something together and see what happens. Have a nice chocolate dessert prepared already

I disagree with you somewhat, I've worked in the restaurant business, in fact I am considered a Professional Maitre D and I worked for THE highest volume sit down restaurant in the US until a few years ago.

Can it be rushed, noisy, and unromantic? Absolutely, but it can also be intimate and if you have a great server it can be a great night.

I'm actually having dinner out on Valentines Day and I picked a restaurant with a small seating schedule and where I know the staff.

For a 3rd date/valentines day IMO a home cooked meal isn't as appropriate as a dinner out, unless it's progressed pretty fast and she feels comfortable in your home by the third date.

Haha Foodie, I get what you mean, but I love cooking for friends and would easily rather do an intimate candlelit dinner at my place over a crowded restaurant. Don't get me wrong I love eating out, but I like quiet places.
