| | Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ?Page 1 of 3 (1, 2, 3) | Alcohol is a drug
I think its the most stupidest question on here.
And what is it with women and dogs ?
Children have all left I'm free to do what I want and go where ever I can, Oh hang on I can't I've got a dog now.....
Looking for a Genuine/Real man ?
As opposed to a fake plastic one ?

| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/23/2012 8:21:18 PM | Indeed, it is a silly question. The majority of us do drugs, whether it's paracetamol or heroin...
But no, it isn't a silly question. Alcohol is legal, drugs aren't. If someone messages me saying "well, I'm not an alcoholic drinker, but I love the do a few lines on a Friday" - I'm not going to interpret this as 'oh it's the same as dating a social drinker'...
Why didn't you add cigarettes? I usually tend to think alcohol, cigarettes and drugs to be pretty important things in a relationship. This is why I find it a completely RELEVANT and an un-stupid question.
Need I elaborate more on how much I disagree with what you're saying? o.O

| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/23/2012 10:28:40 PM | Alcohol is not a drug, it's drink. Although if you're going to be f**king r*tarded about it then yes, it is a drug, because it is a chemical. My lamp is also a chemical. I don't judge anyone for owning a lamp, I don't judge anyone for enjoying a beer or two, I do judge anyone who does drugs, which is why you have that distiction between the two.

Why didn't you add cigarettes?
Because he smokes. Apparently cigarettes have no drugs in them so that's ok.
OP you feeling a bit narked off with the dating scene? Take a break, go speed dating, join rambling clubs etc and enjoy.

| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/23/2012 11:20:31 PM | I think both questions are relevant. Some people are afraid of dogs or allergic to them or just dont like them and having lived with a drug addict for years I would definitely want to know whether there was an issue, not that I would expect many people to admit it on here. I think it asks you whether you drink socially doesnt it or more than 3 times a week. To be honest, again I wouldnt expect anyone to admit it if they were p1ssed out of their head every night but I would like to know.
A genuine real man - yeah well that can have many interpretations.
As with smoking theyre preferences and theyre good to know if you have an aversion to something in particular.
|
| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/23/2012 11:28:42 PM | I agree with the above poster. I lived with an alcoholic for a while so whether or not they drink is relevant. That said, most peeps can control it but I reckon there are a lot of people out there on the slippery slope to alcoholism (having watched Panorama this week it confirms this). Quite a few social drinkers have a problem.
And alcohol is a drug - it's actually more addictive than many drugs and if the manufacturers invented it now, it would never get a licence imho
Also the smoking question is important. Can't be doing with it myself.
As for a genuine man - I think you know the opposite isn't fake, it is someone who doesn;t tell lies or plays games. That said, I can't really see the point in spelling this out. I find a lot of guys on here say they are genuine but their behaviour in emails/messages or when you email/message tells me they are not - it's all relative tbh. Probably the same with women too - so many guys on here complain of no replies, women are shallow, yadda yadda - is that not being genuine? As I said - all relative!

| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 1:44:17 AM | OP. It is relevant on both counts . Yes we do have pets. I have cats which some people hate. I am not keen on dogs. Ive turned up at peoples houses dressed well in decent clothes whilst this out of control animal jumps up in muddy clothes slobbering and snagging the cloth whilst they say something like ''they wont hurt you, they are only being friendly'' . yep one ruined jacket /later. I am very conscious of my cats who make a beeline to someone and can cover them in fur which sticks to clothes requiring a roll of sellotape to get off. Thus when dating I look for compatability in many areas , pets being one as 99% of people would not get rid of their pets.. MSG 3 Which planet are you on ? Booze is not drunk because it quenches thirst like a bottle of fizzy pop. It is drunk because of the alcohol content to change the character whether to relax or get blasted. Yes some do like the taste but if it was the taste then sales of alcohol free wines and beers would rocket as they should be cheaper due to no alcohol involved and would be classed as beverages. If you are on this site it is pointless to date anyone who does things or has things which would upset you or make life difficult so alcohol consumption /dogs/ snakes whatever just narrow matches. | |

Posted: 2/24/2012 2:10:11 AM | Being able to read the words and undertsanding what they mean isn't enough and you also have to have comprehension and in the OP you lack this. What do you think people mean when they ask "do you do drugs"? As you would surely put yes? Caffeine, paracetamol and the like?
They may have always had the dog, what do you want them to do? Put it down? I am fairly sure a dog can be left on its own for the evening and a weekend away, a Kennel club could look after them? People have responsibility and that rarely changes but when the kids have left home that dwindles dramatically.
Again about genuine/real man is about comprehension and the opposite to real isn't always fake.
I think its the most stupidest question on here. I think your wrong and that is yours.

| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 2:13:07 AM | | Has anyone on here ever seen a profile that said they did do drugs? you may as well have a box that says "Does your sh!t stink really badly?"....pointless. | |
|
| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 2:34:58 AM | Because alcohol and tobacco are socially acceptable and legal drugs - that’s all. Everything can be a drug in the right/wrong proportions so everyone does drugs.
Some profiles you look at - you just know they smoke those long pointy cigarettes but still deny it - can’t really blame them and I’m sure there aren’t many crack cocaine addicts on dating sites.
I’ve never smoked, barely drink and do not indulge in any classified drugs (apart from a little crystal meth at the weekends***)
Looking for a genuine / kind woman - yes guys do this too. It simply implies that they consider the default in the opposite gender to be false and unkind in my view which makes me slightly wary. What is genuine anyway? - I never understand that one.
***Disclaimer notice:- this is a joke and should not be taken seriously

| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 2:44:59 AM | | A drug is a substance that has a physiological effect when in the body. So alcohol is difinitely a drug. The fact that it is not an illegal street drug makes it socially acceptable even though it destroys more lives than most other drugs. | |

That whole genuine/kind malarky has always put me off and the way you've summed it up puts it perfectly. A lot of people on dating sites make sweeping generalisations about other people without even realising what they're accidentally exposing about themselves.
vvvvvvvvvvv damn...i just realised that.

Of course that in its self is a sweeping generalisation!

| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 3:11:33 AM | Check out the teeth...easy to tell if they smoke the spliffs...and a long nail on a pinky finger tells me they sniff coke...just a couple of observations...
I've seen a profile that admits to taking drugs

| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 4:26:32 AM | It is not about a stupid question , but someone coming up with a stupid explanation to start a thread.. So your fine with something that causes cancer then OP....duh | |
|
| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 4:33:13 AM | Smokers get yellow teeth would you accuse my grandma who smokes 40 benson and hedges every day and is nearly 90 of smoke the long pointy things?
I have yellow teeth from all the years I smoked I have quit but the stains are persistant. And I have never even held a spiff let alone smoked one.

I think you are missing a "can" in your statement. It would appear that not all those that smoke actually get cancer, many live relatively healthy lives almost up to their hundreds in age!
It's apparent that some people have gorgeous smiles when their lips are closed together, however, it all goes wrong when they waggling their tongues in an incoherent noxious manner!
VVVVV One can have many addictions, not all of them are narcotics (endorphin rushes from running jogging perhaps?)
If Nicotine were a drug, should we not classify patches as Class A, B etc?
|
| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 4:35:44 AM | If that made sense who knows..but who cares!
Nicotine is still a drug, you get addicted to it..

| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 6:04:05 AM | | By the way if you have ever taken co-codamol and then get arrested (spurious crimestoppers anonymous phone call with no foundation but police have to act) then you will have to have a drugs test. This will show positive for herion/morphine use. I was then threatened with a £2500 fine if I didn't attend a drugs rehabilitation course and my details are on databases as a registered drug user WTF !!! All because of a headache ? My doctor was appalled and my complaints to police authorities an into 5 pages. All dropped but I'm still on the databases. Big brother is watching !! | |
|
| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 6:35:11 AM | | I see no point in the drugs question being there, everyone says no anyway. Met someone who said he didn't take drugs, but then proceeded to light a spliff up on our date! | |

| Doesn't do 'drugs' but drinks ? Posted: 2/24/2012 1:49:58 PM | Cinder, just say no...to stupid comments.. Spliff..glazed eyes, cocaine..cocky. but not teeth and nails. I've done drugs, 20 yrs ago, now work with rehab and training. I used to, in my 20;s write letters about legalising drugs. The main thing about smoking weed/dope when I was young, was the amount of people who were addicted to nicotine because they smoked dope at weekends. Some of them thought they were addicted to grass. They were health freaks who would NEVER smoke fags... It was the tobacco.... not funny really...
Drugs...
Tea Coffee Nicotine Alcohol Isn't this a drug??why not?because its sociably acceptable, like coffee? Running (but seemingl the hormones released afterwards makes you very sexied up, pity I was 12 when I ran...)
Has anyone ever come across a profile that says"does drugs?" Probably on another dating site....
