all genres have crap and gold simultaniously. Talent is judged in the musical context as having the ability to do something unique that draws attention. I myself have seen battle rappers pull some complex toung twisters at rediculous speeds off the top of thier head. Even though I can play 20 instruments most of which at the virtuoso level I can respect the fact that the MC's one strange trick is worth the attention from time to time | |

real music for real people. real musicians don't sample others music, they create their own.
talking isn't a talent. most of the population of the world can talk.
i've got way more respect for someone that can freestyle rhyme on the spot with no sample or beatbox.
tech 9....that guy is fast. and almost reggae sounding at times.
but when i think of rap i think of mc hammer, ICP, flavor flav.....a bunch of no talent hacks that SOMEHOW found an audience.
