| love at first site? Posted: 7/26/2005 7:40:49 AM | | Well, yes, usually I don't. I guard myself from that. But the one time I slipped up, well let's just say it made me realize real quick why I don't let my heart out of its cage. But it can be a good thing. Great feelings ensue. Just make sure the other person feels the same way. | |

| love at first site? Posted: 7/26/2005 7:46:52 AM | | It definitely does happen anyway but since I have yet to experience that exhiliration again I don't believe that it's something that can happen every day or even every month. I suppose I don't consider it to be something to shrug off as you continue on with your day. | |

| love at first site? Posted: 7/26/2005 5:11:07 PM | | i think everybody has met someone at random who they 'fell' for.....this is not that uncommon, but what is uncommon is finding someone thru pure coincidence who is your life-long mate........and that is a once in a life time opportunity! | |

| love at first site? Posted: 9/1/2005 3:26:43 PM | | I can say it's happened to me before. You get that very real feeling that this is the one. Not this "could be" the one, but you just feel it at your core that this is what love is really all about. Makes it that much harder when it ends, but such is life. You only get out what you put into it. Hold back a little bit and you risk not being truly satisfied. The only way is to jump in head first. | |
|
| love at first site? Posted: 9/1/2005 3:30:26 PM | | @DR1665 once again I must agree with you!!!! You never know if you don't try. I'd rather put myself out there and get my heart splattered than to hold back and never know what could've been. It's happened to me once. | |
|

| love at first site? Posted: 9/1/2005 6:00:44 PM | NO I DON"T BELIEVE IN IT. For it to be love you have to get to know the person and not judge on looks. Love at first site implies falling in love with someone just by looking at them, and thats never happened. Those that claimed it happened have a bad relationship that breaks up after a short time. There is no such thing, because you have to get to know the persons character and personality.
So those that say they have had love at first site are confused or are not really truthful.

| love at first site? Posted: 9/1/2005 6:19:51 PM | Lol just trying to make a comment and in the process attept to help others understand what a true relationship is all about. Because lets face it the divorce rate is high enough , so it's time for people to start making right decisions and just have patience and try to have true love in them as suppose to letting their eyes play tricks on them.
I'm all for joy by the way. I just don't feel I'm the one being the joy killer in these sort of situations. Just ask all the single good people out there who have suffered through rejections all because of their appearance. They will tell you who the "joykillers" are.

| love at first site? Posted: 9/1/2005 7:58:00 PM | | there is no such thing as love at first sight....that is called lust and high levels of hormones. true love is something that grows and develops over time.......lust eventually fades out. so, you better make sure you want to be a part of the building process or your relationship will fail for sure!! do nto get me worng, there is nothing wrong with lust....that is exciting! but there has to be more to it than that for anything to last!! | |

| love at first site? Posted: 9/1/2005 8:01:37 PM | I agree ^^^ Bravo
I great response, you see, there has to be that foundation called character and great personality. If one says they have love at first site, fact is it's not love, but a hormonal reaction that is really playing games with your mind. I had the same thing in March of 1998 over this girl I had a crush on in high school, I thought it was love but it wasn't and now I know better and you people should too.
See that you get to know the person well and then you can talk about love.
Take care | |

| love at first site? Posted: 9/1/2005 9:10:03 PM | Yes it definately exists in my opinion.
The problem is that anything in nature that exists with such intensity... lets just say I would be concerned with if there was any real "staying power" to the relationship. I've always been willing to put my heart on the line when I've felt that way... and have many wonderful memories and a few awful scars from it. But who would I be without those experiences. Go for it... life is TOO SHORT!

| love at first site? Posted: 9/1/2005 10:13:46 PM | I think when that happens, what we are experiencing is that someone has come closest to meeting our inner expectations when it comes to the physical/aesthetics of a mate that we have imagined in our minds.
Whether it holds any value or whether they just "fit" that beautiful mold we have created, is another story. I think it can get us in trouble depending on what's on the inside of that person and we are often very fixated on our self-created image of what that person ought to look like to us.
The more specific we are, the more dangerous it can be.
Therefore, I don't believe in true love at first site...but coincidentally you can find someone who met both criteria (outside matches insides)and it was likely a fluke...it's bound to happen for some anyway.
|
| love at first site? Posted: 9/2/2005 12:37:27 AM | Definately does not exist in my opinion. How on earth can you love someone you just met ( if you just met you certainly don't know many things about them). Lust at first sight sure, love? impossible | |
