| | Memory loss through drinkPage 1 of 2 (1, 2) | Over the years I have been on a few drinking sprees and spent many a happy night getting wrecked with friends and when I think back there might be a few blanks but Ive never ever suffered complete memory loss. Some people report that they literally cannot remember a thing, wake up in strange beds with people they dont remember, quite dangerous I think for men as well as women.
Have you ever been so drunk that you really cant remember a thing?

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 7:00:32 AM | I'm not the biggest drinker but do wish I could remember one night in Tenerife a few years back.
My pals filled a pint glass with various shorts as it was my birthday and as tradition dictated I drank the lot.
We then moved from bar to bar but for the life of me I haven't remembered anything from that first bar in the years since.
They did mention 2 girls tried to take me home but I know who the girls were and think they were doing it for the good of my health.
I have visions of being in my 90's and suddenly the whole evening coming back to me.

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 7:04:06 AM | No.
The closest I came was the last time I got really drunk - about a decade or so ago - and even then things were just a bit hazy and after a few minutes, it was all good in the hood
I don't really enjoy being drunk and going out with the intention of getting that pissed is alien to me (even though nearly all my friends, enjoy going out on the lash)
Anyone who intentionally gets that wasted, HAS to accept some responsibility for whatever might happen to them afterwards

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 7:11:52 AM | | This has happend to me once. A situation where I couldnt remember most of the night but it did eventually come back to me. Years ago I went to a Night club,I was waiting at the bar to order some drinks just behind another woman. As she turned to leave, she bumped into me spilling some of her drink on my arm. She apologised and offered to buy me a drink. I declined but she insisted. The last thing I remembered was asking her what her name was. I woke up lying on strange bed,in a strange room with a massive hangover. I didnt know where I was and it wasnt till I looked out the window and saw a red bus that I heaved a sigh of relief that I was still in London. By the way,I was still fully clothed so I know nothing happend. But I had no recollection of the night | |

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 7:17:09 AM | Got wasted at a party once but had the sense to give someone my car keys. Next morning was found wandering around again at the party. Apparently some plonker had given me my keys back, I had driven them home, driven home, slept in my own bed, driven back to the party. No recollection of either going home or driving. How bad is that. | |

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 7:29:11 AM | Worst I ever was when out was when I was 15 and it was the first time I had ever been drinking (and last for a long time). I had no idea what alcohol did to you. A group of us met up at a bus station with bottles of god knows what. It was all being handed round. I remember trying to get into the local community centre disco and got hauled into a side room. Next thing, my brother hauls me out while nobody was looking - and that is the last I remember until my mother shoved me fully clothed in a bath of cold water.
As an adult, I have had occasional times when I have had partial blanks after I get home - I think I have some sort of self preservation in-built. I've got a taxi home, remember getting in front door and next thing I wake up, clothes fully folded and on the chair. Coffee cup by the bed, door locked after coming in, lights out etc. Then when I have logged onto computer, found out that I have had apparently fairly sensible conversations with people I know (and occasionally people I don't). I have had totally no recollection of this. However, if I have tried to phone text anyone, it is so garbled as to be unreadable - even by me.
I make a point of not getting too drunk if I am out on the town or at a party. Have been known to leave suddenly and with no explanation other than 'I'm going home'.

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 7:32:52 AM | Oh God Yes , Germany , back in the Time Of Heroes. Epic, epic, epic including 2 days in Berlin I can't remember at all, but my Credit Card Bill was about 1200 DM. Unfortunately the people I was with don't remember an awful lot about it either.
I must do it again sometime :)

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 8:04:25 AM | Sometimes I see it as a blessing.. Until the flashbacks start happening and you'r like, Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
Other times, I wake up thinking I have been robbed until my mates start asking if I remember going here and there and here and getting on a boat and..
My friend had the fumiest experience though when he ended up sleeping in a photography dark room. He woke up to pitch black and thought he'd died.

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 9:30:04 AM | | ...Good Lord yes. The blackout is the best bit sometimes...almost certainly to be undermined by the dreaded flashback...and the yelp that comes with it, the perfect vision of myself imitating a drunken twat, the yelp always involuntary, and often in the most uncomfortable of places, trying to explain that I have just felt a very sharp pain in my side..that convinces nobody. I miss my ex-wife at times, waking up with two nuclear burning spots on the back of my head, turning over and finding her staring at me, then give me chapter and verse every indiscretion of the previous evening....she had a remarkable memory. | |

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 11:28:01 AM | | Once many years ago when billy Idol was in the charts I went to a nightclub which was still called a disco then.I was about 17 ish i think, could have been slightly younger. i saw this bloke from across the dancefloor and was smitten. He totally looked like billy Idol with the pure white hair and his clothing. next thing I was waking up at home.. alone I'd like to add and didnt remember a thing. Apparently my mate told me I fell to my knees in the middle of the car park in front of everyone and cried out to this guy that I loved him!. He walked away and I was inconsolable... Oh the embarrassment and shame. i have no clue to who he was or ever saw him again thankfully. thankfully it was never repeated. | |

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 11:54:55 AM | | the best ones are the people who say they cant remember sleeping with someone and doing this and that with them haha, total lies blamed on drink, everyone remembers things like that, its just that they had beer goggles on and in the cold light of day they were minging to them without beer lol | |

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 12:52:46 PM | Oh yes, had worst one the Christmas before last. Woke up with the hangover from hell from a night on the whisky. It was so bad my teeth felt like they were operating independently from the rest of me!
Along with complete lack of memory I had rubber teeth and a tongue that was made of sandpaper! Never experienced a hangover like it, must have seriously been on the verge of poisoning.
Felt like I'd been on the petrol.

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/7/2012 1:03:14 PM | Absinthe minded, waking up in a hedge with one shoe on,somewhere in Spain wondering how did i get here, who am i. Recieving texts the next morning after a good night in the city,oh god i didnt did i,but no one noticed right?.oh god i got a tattoo, looking in your wallet to find the cost of it all.The devil in a shot glass, one too many slammers, kebab stains, blimp burns all down the front of my favourite shirt. The spinning in my head the roulette wheel the lights in the casino, what happened to you last night man with those two hookers. i was once a quiet shy guy until i got juiced up,blood in my alcohol stream turning my mind into a marinated lettuce. Memories like the corners of my mind, mystery morning memories of the way we were......... | |

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/15/2012 2:15:00 PM | There was a girl who tried to give me a BJ , drunk at New Year, in my Aunties house, while everyone else was sober, she had a good hangover next day, probably still cant remember. She was quite stong willed... :P
Age 25, I woke up on a roadside in the highlands after drinking whisky with some old guys, just remember buying drinks then waking up, thinking maybe I was drugged with sheep drops or something, but I still had my wallet and my arse was intact...
|
| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/15/2012 2:17:56 PM | | My constitution prevents me from getting so drunk I can't remember. I'm usually either ill or asleep long before that happens. Also, the older I get the less I can stomach alcohol before I have to start reaching for the Gaviscon! | |
|
| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/15/2012 2:23:36 PM | | I seem to be more prone to memory loss than most, one of the reasons why I am a moderate drinker. | |

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/16/2012 11:58:31 AM | While at uni I went to bed early one night and he next day woke up and there was a pizza box and an empty beer can by my bed. I was really freaked out by it. One of my friends was able to fill me in on what happened. She had phoned me when I was in bed and asked me to come to a party she was at her boyfriend came and picked me up and I stayed at this until about 2 and then we went and got a pizza and her boyfriend dropped me home. I still can't remember it myself we think my drink might have been spiked.
Over than that there were a few times at uni where i couldn't remember stuff I'd done but it would all come flooding back the next day.
Don't drink as much now.

| Memory loss through drink Posted: 4/18/2012 1:30:56 PM | | I think if I had to get so drunk that I had memory loss, I would spend the night vomiting soooo hard that forgetting it simply would/could not occure! | |
