Posted: 11/7/2004 11:00:25 AM | | guitarman you are so right on this topic. i think MTV is the worset by far in that catogory. gee ya think they have an agenda? they dont even play music anymore. as for the amreaica people. there are tons that are fed up with that crap...i for one dont even wacth tv that much and if i do it is normaly like 4 chanels... history chanel, discovery chanel, TLC the learning chanel, or the local christain chanel. oh yea and some times the candian chanel for don cherry, hockey games and there news when i can cacth it. as the old saying go 99 chanels and nothings on. | |

Posted: 11/7/2004 11:20:41 AM | And that is one of the reasons why I cut myself off from television in February of 2003. Since then, I have only watched the rare sporting event on the 3/4 of the channel that I get reception on. I still will watch the occasional movie, though.
Believe it or not, I really don't miss TV a whole lot - except for maybe the Simpsons. What a riot that show has been! | |

Posted: 11/7/2004 4:12:16 PM | Really tv is kind of a morale booster. Its found to be a release from stress, either from work school. Same thing with games. I for one don't have anything against it. Even though tv is mindless people sometimes need to be mindless. Its good to take a break from the seriousness of the real world and have a little lay back time.
As for games, Well i think it can actually be a good thing for people and kids. Can develop some skills to agree. (Not hand eye cordination lol) But more useful skills such as communication and even team work. Yes Sports are better and more healthy but if the kid gets his excersise and eats right, its not that bad of a hobbie. | |

***Look around at what todays children are interested in....cartoons..violence...fear factor even....instead of letting your kids watch mindless crap like that....turn it off....play a game. read a book...if you dont like it do something about it...if more people spent time with their children..and less time depending on the tv ratings would go down...and shows would get cancelled...
***look at america..we are fat lazy slobs...and now theyre calling obesity an epedemic....what...is it polio or something??? Chidren dont have an imagination....and these are the soon to be adults that our country is going to depend on....

People always seem to find excuses to why children are violent and go and shoot people. But theres no excuse to a murderers behavior, Now talking stats its children that are bullied are the violent ones. That has stastic theory behind it, not video games.
Take me for example Ive been playing video games that involved shooting people sinse i was near 10 and i have not been in a single fight that got physical in all of school. Yet i was bullied myself and had reason (not valid reason) but reason to be angry at people.
Its the enviroment in which children are raised that will reflect the person they become. However saying that people have the ability to change there behavior and get over what happened in the past. It is no excuse what so ever for any act of violence. Bad past or not. Every person has the ability to tell right from wrong. | |
