Depends on the age of the audience really, anything from Vera Lynn to Ed Sheeren is passable.

After checking out where you live OP, I reckon the Chas n Dave thing is a great idea, a bit of Knees Up Mother Brown, It's a Long Way to Tipperary....they do love a good knees up there if I remember rightly!

My kids appreciate all music mostly the 70s and 80 s so hopefully the 16 s n up will enjoy the older music also .
Love gilbert o sullivans claire makes me all dreamy :P
I think anything you play will make a great night it can not all possibly be english too much hard work for a dj . 4/5 hours of english music LOL dear me some people must think you have nothing better to do than sit there looking for music not to mention organising the order in which it plays and downloading the disc it takes ages ..By the time you have found them it will be over People are there to celebrate the day /night not to think god thats not an english song ... Its about joining as one to celebrate our day the best way us brittish do best A pint and a wiggle round the dancefloor :)

I doubt many people would be bothered why you are celebrating someone born in the middle east , after all its not unusual , people celebrate jesus all the time but yet he was born in the middle east .:) So the story goes . | |
