I have gone the entire gamut, I.E. , Google, Google Chrome, and Firefox. MAybe 1 in 50 chat requests went thru. Even called a friend asked her to go online. When I tried "Chatting" the screen came up and nothing ???? And this was while I was on the phone with her ??????????????? Wonder what kind of excuse MArkus or Cowboy are going to come up with now???? Am about ready to dump POF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |

Most questions have been covered.
MOST chat requests time out because THEY DONT WANT TO CHAT WITH YOU. POF can not force women to answer your chat requests. Its is not a technical problem. You dont get replies to messages? Gee surprise that they dont want to chat with you either. The vast majority of people here do not chat with people they have not MESSAGED WITH. Its is a "next step" not a way to make initial contact here.
Normal guys on here pray for 3 regular messages out of a hundred they send to get replies. Figure you are going to get a teeny tiny fraction of that number when you try and make first contact using the chat here. Quit using chat to make first contact. Thats not really what most use it for. Most consider it very rude to try and make first contact with IM/Chat

In the link provided Admin posted almost 5 months ago that they have over 2 million chat requests a day here. At that time he said less then 1 percent had technical issues preventing them from going through. That is still 23,000 a DAY and that was many months ago and they have supposedly tried to address many of those issues.
Chat has worked fine for me here always. Modern computers, a modern OS and plenty of ram are the key.
It worked fine for me even on my old dell laptop made in 2006 but it had 2 MB ram and ran windows 7.
Theere is NO WAY POSSIBLE that it can work properly for everyone in the world. They can control the platform you run on like you can in a corporate environment. meaning they cant control your hardware or software. You may be running on a pile of horse shit basically.
I have run the new IM on almost a dozen platforms. Non older then my old dell laptop and none had less then a couple mb of ram. I ran it on both IE and FireFox. So if it is a real technical problem its YOU and YOUR system. Works fine for the vast majority of users and tehy are not going to fix it for just you.
Worked fine. They dont do a very good job of testing here before they throw out a new software release. But there is NO WAY IN HELL they can attempt to test on all hardware and software platforms either. So they chunk it out there and if enough people scream that its broken they attempt another patch.
Now if reading comprehension really is not a problem for you then redirect any future comments into the THREAD I LINKED FOR YOU which is the ONLY PLACE that commenting will do any good. (long sigh...)

just got an Android wonder if all of this is going to work on that ?? Sometimes chat works or does not on firefox have not tried it on safari..... chat requires Adobe Flash. Not available on most phones, some browsers and hardware platforms for computers are also not supported.
The IM here is still considered in "beta" mode. In constant development. Crap may work one day aqnd not next week. Will work again the week after etc...
Best advice is to use FireFox or IE on a modern computer with lots of ram. Use the latest version of the browser and latest version of Adobe Flash. This solves 99 percent of the problems.
