| el camino de santiago. France to Spain Posted: 5/7/2012 8:12:47 AM | | I haven't walked it but I've been on the Spanish part of the route because I have a friend who lives in La Rioja. It gets extremely hot there but if you're from Texas you're used to it. I don't think I'd pick that time of year to walk but I'm sure there'll be some people. The last time I was there it was August and there were plenty of pilgrims. There must be a special website about it where you could meet people. I hope you'll come back and post about your trip. | |

| el camino de santiago. France to Spain Posted: 6/20/2012 8:41:03 AM | | I did it in 2006 in september.....summer would be too hot and crowded and you would not be guaranteed and place to sleep for sure. April... may or sept....oct would be best. I did the whole 800 k in 29 days the was a little fast ..if I went again I would take my time...it was a great challenge and experience. Don't worry about finding someone to go with you will meet lots of people no problem and if you enjoy their company great and if you don't just walk to village farther than them and you will meet new people......I did that :)))))))) | |

| el camino de santiago. France to Spain Posted: 6/21/2012 1:06:21 PM | Hello: I walked the last 117 kilometers (Sarria-Santiago de Compostela) averaging 24 kilometers a day last September (2011). You are fit ad young (I am 62 years old and heavy set) you won't have any problems. You speak the language (yo tambien por lo que no tuve problemas es ese aspecto) This September I am going for the second time (Starting in Lisbon this time) Best advice I can give you is this:
