I can completely understand if I had none or even one..a head shot but I have various shots and try my best to be what you see is what you get.

If they are someone you have been corresponding with for awhile, it may be that they want something a little more personal that is especially for them. It doesn't HAVE to be something sexy. There are of course guys who hope for something explicit, and there are women willing to send explicit photos to someone they been in contact with for some time.
It's also possible that they see it as a type of verification of who you are, if they ask for a specific type of photo. For example, if they ask you to take a photo of you by your garden. Admittedly, that is not very likely, but it is a possible reason.
A person can tell quite a bit about someone from seeing photos of someone else going about their daily routine. If you privately send photos of you with your children after having established a certain level of trust, they can give an indication of your personality. The same goes for photos of you during your travels. If you never smile, it might make someone wonder. If you make goofy faces, it gives additional insight into your personality.
So, in my estimation, the more photos I can see of you, the more I am likely to understand and appreciate you.

Posted: 6/21/2012 9:41:15 AM | OP, not being a man that has ever asked for more photos, I can only speculate. First, asking for more pics can be the preable to asking for more explicit pics. We men tend to be horny creatures that are visually stimulated! Second, there may be an underlying reason of asking for more pics which seem clearly unnecessary. That reason would be to see how easily the men can get you to comply with their stated wishes. How easy you might be to manipulate or blindly be willing to comply, no questions asked to their request/demand. Are you willing to think and stand up for yourself or be submisssive towards whatever the man wants.

Plenty of times I've met girls on here and then later seen their facebook albums... what a difference, sometimes! seesh! Near-miss!

much connection happening otherwise... or they suspect
your pictures are older and you've changed... or they're
asking for a small favor to see if you do that to get
you in the habit. This is not a bad thing, just human
nature and the asking of a small favors is not necessarily
a flag.... but do be aware that some people ask for a lot
of favors in the nicest way in order to push boundries
in relationships. | |

1) Bad pics. Meaning out-of-focus. Or zoomed in so there's no full body or near full body pic. Or zoomed out, so you can't see any details. Only having one or two pics also counts as bad pics.
2) Altered pics. Airbrushed skin, airbrushed body shape, stuff like that.
3) Old pics. Everything is from years ago. You're wearing MC Hammer parachute pants, or pics just don't look like someone in your age group.
Basically they want to confirm what you really look like.
If your photos are otherwise fine, then it means they want:
4) Explicit pics. Naked or nearly naked. Or setting the groundwork for getting said pics. | |

I look forward to seeing what kind of answers you get because I've encountered this as well, and it's one of the quickest ways to scare me off/creep me out. A guy I used to date who lived abroad used to asked me to send pics, but that was because he missed me, and wanted to see photos of what I'd been up to recently. And pics of me he hadn't seen before because, well, he obviously thought I was attractive. :)
But total strangers who have plenty examples of what you look like from your profile . . . ? Go figure. | |

I. We've been talking for a while and I want a personal picture of you just for me.
II. You look/sound too good to be true, and I want to verify you are who you say you are. Everybody has a camera phone nowadays, so if those pictures are real and RECENTLY TAKEN, you should be able to produce. Sounds stupid, but I flushed out a faker or two like this. | |
