I do it all the time...it's a way of expressing emotion due to the electronic era we live in. Women are emotional creatures by our nature so we're trying to let you know we're happy, friendly, laughing, etc. | |

I'm a fairly cheerful person, so I smile a lot, therefore my messages contain lots of smile emoticons. I also use winks when I'm attempting to flirt. I think it's just one of those things women do that men don't. Definitely a good sign though. | |

They're also fun and help to liven up an informal message!!! :-D
Plus, let's face it, people who hate smileys have no soul. ;-)
