| Whats the wildest thing you have ever done?
Posted: 6/22/2012 6:11:15 PM | On scuba diving, I was underwater 25 meters down from the calm sea surface. My air tank gauge was saying it's empty.
Several minutes prior to that, the guide, who was also qualified instructor, left me alone there - he swam away with other diver, even though from earlier, over several times, I told him that my air was due. I knew and was familiar with how to ascend under that circumstances, so it wasn't really a problem to let my self come back to the surface.
After hitting the surface, I struggled to inflate buoyancy jacket, 'cause really there's no air left in the tank while I was exhausted from a kind of emergency ascend. And I found our boat which was supposed to pick me up was miles and miles away. | |

Posted: 6/22/2012 6:18:15 PM | hiked alone into the Amazon jungle to keep a promise to some tribespeople I had once helped that I would 'see them again' (and I did 'see them again', in fact, the medicine man told me they were 'expecting me'...

My sister met this guy at a club and they hit it off. She was taking me home and he wanted to ride so he got in the middle. Next thing we know, these crazy chicks were trying to run us off the road. It was really crazy cuz sis had a huge pickup truck and they had a VW bug. The guy confessed it was his ex-g/f who had been stalking him. Sis takes a turn into a wooded area. They still followed. We were freaking out because they kept bumping her truck. Sis, had no idea where we were going. I was an 18 year old scared to death girl who looked down in a mili-sec and saw a deep crevice. I knew we were going to hit it...and we did. The truck started spinning and I was praying....praying and freaking. The truck came to a stop and dust was flying everywhere. She opened the car door and went to get out then screamed. He caught her hand and pulled her back in the truck. We all climbed out my side and that is when we saw there was a deep drop off next to her.
It wasn't until the next day when we got the tow truck out there that we saw just how deep it was. It was a road that led to a canyon with nothing stopping us from going over...except Gods good grace.
It we hadn't hit that crevice...we would have plummeted to our deaths. | |

Posted: 6/22/2012 9:11:30 PM | The ride from Washington that dropped me off in the middle of NYC put me on foot, still hitch-hiking, to get to Connecticut.
I nearly drowned in whitewater, my first time in a kayak. That was a woo-hoo moment, when I figured out how to escape (no instruction given prior).
I hitched to Agawam, MA from central Connecticut -- when I was 11 years old.
I was heading for Canada. ;)
I helped someone reposess a car, but I wasn't sure if he really was a repo man -- I just went for it. | |

I dated a girl for 2 years in a country consumed by a raging civil war. We dated to the sounds of bombs, machine guns, grenades, gun fire, burnt cars, buses and buildings, blown up bridges, restaurants, discos and other establishments.
We'd joke about going to have a drink at a place between the such and such burnt building and the blown up whatever and, that we should get there before 11:45 a.m or after 3:00 p.m to avoid the bomb rush.
One restaurant we had dinner at got blown to nothing 2 days after we were there (it was in a Hyatt hotel just about the time we had been there.) Glad they didn't blow the thing up; while we were there, I'm sure they would have ruined our order.
A disco we went to also got torched a few days after we were there.
One time they damaged a bridge we needed to go over on our way back to the capital from the beach. We often ran into burnt buses on our way to or back from someplace.
It was like dating in an entertainment park. It never fazed either one of us. We'd just work around it do something else. Neither of us were into sweating small stuff.
I almost forgot the best part. We met because we were both staying at hotel that had to be temporarily evacuated because some idiot released some kind of toxic gas (burnt your lungs). We met in the parking lot. Best of best, this happened at a Holiday Inn in Florida where we were both on vacation. Seemed like trouble followed us everywhere :-) | |

Being the hero I am, I jumped from the vehicle (mind you, while moving at 50 mph), landing on the leopard, wrestling it off the poor helpless creature, hence saving its life. Wait...did that really happen? Anyway...that'd be wild! | |

Not likely since there are no kangaroos in Africa, LOL...Now if you were in Australia and a kangaroo was being attacked by a Death Adder, THAT would be wild, haha
So, my wildest experiences have involved snakes. People in my neighborhood tend to kill any snakes they see, so I have posted on my FB page that if they see one, to call me. So one day my parents called me and I had to remove a 5 foot Black Racer from their garage. I trapped it and held it "Steve Irwin style" then released it in the woods down the street. The next time they called there was one under the hot tub. It was getting too hot so it was slinking out when I grabbed it and slowly pulled it out. I kept pulling and pulling (like a magician pulling scarves out of his mouth, lol) and finally after 5 feet he was out. We kept that one for a while in a huge tank at my house. Fed it mice and just watched in fascination! Let it go after a week.....
Now ppl in my neighborhood call me "The snake whisperer" LMAO | |

Posted: 6/23/2012 12:45:43 PM | Traveled in South Lebanon alone and wound up with a death threat against me and being questioned for a few hours in a military facility outside of Tyre. The military folks (this was legitimate Lebanese military NOT Hizbollah)were quite nice and kept me well supplied with tea, cashews and dried apricots. They did however retain my passport during the questioning which was unnerving.

My family and I went to the Kennedy Center to see "Jersey Boys" a while back...We were dressed in our finary (including high heels) and at the intermission my sister and I had to use the bathroom. Well as usual, the lady's room line was so long and there was no one in the men's line. I said to my sister "I'm not standing in that line in these heels so I'm using the men's room!"
Well my sister being a bit conservative looked at me and her jaw hit the floor...I whisked pass the women and opened the men's room door saying "Look out, woman coming through!"
The guys looked at me, mouths agape but started laughing nonetheless! I was in and out in 3 minutes and back in my seat well before my sister...As I left the men's room, I heard a woman whisper to another "Now that takes some balls" LOL | |
