I've spent my share of time in bars and never has the oppurtunity for a fling come up. I think anyone who claims to get laid in bars is leaving out a hell of a lot. I don't buy the idea that its "simple" to hook up with a drunk girl in the bar. There is probably lots of lying and manipulation involved. Actually I'm here on pof looking for casual dating/no commitment, but I'm not looking for casual sex. I mean what I say about wanting to date casually. I don't want a long term relationship, I just want someone to go out with me. This category isn't an abreviated version of hopping into bed with anybody. | |

Consider if your mother/sister/wife was approached in this manner - would you not be offended that someone was so presumptuous ?
There is not a way to ask without being creepy or offensive, especially in a shopping mall or grocery store. You would have a better chance in a nightclub or bar which are traditionally viewed as 'pick up' scenes but that doesn't provide you with a guarantee of success. Some women will be open to one night stands and others will not. You have no way of determining who is who and you will offend those who aren't.
You need a better strategy because this idea is not a good one and the odds of it being successful are very, very remote. The only bed you are likely to end up in will be within a hospital.
Men who get one-night stands from random strangers, normally have 'game'. They are confident, they are social-able and they are able to read who would be receptive to their advances. They hang out in places which will increase their chances, like, clubs or concerts where women have gone to have a good time - women don't go to the grocery store for that, they go to the grocery store for groceries !
Based on this thread, you don't have the skill-set required to pull this off even if you are in the right environment.

You make a good point, I think this fear of being labeled a "slut" plays a big part in why asking for casual sex is so taboo. | |
