Expert help neededPage 1 of 1
I recently bought a product that came with a dvd user's manual. A note attached says it can only be played on the computer and it is in pdf format. My computer plays regular dvd's in Windows Media Center but doesn't recognize that this dvd is in the drive. I downloaded the latest Adobe reader which I thought was supposed to read pdf formats.

Is there another program I should download to read a pdf formatted dvd???

I thought of the possibility that the dvd itself is just bad, but at the moment I don't have another computer to try it on, so I thought I'd ask here.

Thanks!

When it comes down to a user manual on a DVD in PDF format, you'll need to browse the dvd manually and open the PDF file from there. Adobe Acrobat is one of many programs to read PDFs. It would work.

If you open "my computer" from your start menu (Assuming you have Windows 7), right click on your CD drive, open it and manually find the PDF file, it should automatically open Adobe Acrobat Reader automatically.

Thanks, Matt!

I'm trying that, though, and even though the disc is in the drive, it keeps telling me to insert a disc. Other dvd's work, though. So....did the manufacturer just send me a bad disc, do you think?

If it keeps giving you an insert disc, there might actually be an issue with the disc itself, much like you've just stated.

Are there any scratches or anything visible on the surface of the disc?

I just got done chatting with customer service and they think it's just a bad dvd, too, so they're going to send me another one.

No scratches or marks, it's pristine!

Thanks for helping, I appreciate it!

Windchymes, ive had this problem in the past with DvD's also. It was the Derby Fire&Rescue show 2009. I had 3 dodgy discs but it was the way they were recorded. The disc was recorded in sections and it would stick at a certain part or jump back to previous footage. I ended up getting a copy that did work.LoL but it happened again with the 2010 show and i ended up the same agai. I ended up getting my money back and had to send the discs back.

How so you delete your profile?
Go to "Images" at the top above your inbox. Wait till the pics load at the bottom

To the RIGHT of each image is a pencil looking thing to EDIT the pic and a little trash can thing to delete it.
