So, you could be a size 10 and be considered a "big girl" by some. There is no exact range for the definition. For someone posting that, "big girls" just means "fat chicks". | |

He was inspired by a documentary about obesity in the U.S., which featured "The Butterfly Lounge,"the first nightclub for large women and the men who love them.

This is still a general term and will often apply to women that will argue venomously they are not overweight.

For me, a big girl is one that out of proportion IE, you can be tall, like 5'10 and 175-180lbs and still look proportionate--now if your 4'10 and the same weight---your not "big" or "bbw", your just fat--period. It really depends on a womans general body shape--personally, I go for the classic "hourglass" shape woman----now she could be 4'5 and a size 00 or 5'11 and a size 16---as long as the same curves are there, I could care less what she weighs | |

Posted: 7/1/2012 12:08:52 PM | I doubt most men refer to a dress size or even care what someone weighs, they are talking about what looks good to them when they look at you. This will always be different since men are all individuals. You put a body shot or two in with your face shots and the men can look and see if it attracts them. Make sure your pictures look like you, no old ones or glamor shots or cheating with the angle, just show what you look like and the men who are interested will contact you or reply to your contact.
I really don't think that 'most men' think models are average size, it's not like all men are stupid or blind, they just tend to see what they like without analyzing it it death. If a man does like skinny women then so be it, his business. You aren't in competition with women that you have nothing in common, you are looking for men who like you as you are. | |

I understand "the average American woman" is pretty much a real porker these days, but that doesn't make her appealing as far as I'm concerned.

If you have legs, but no hips, flat stomach, you'd be thin.
If you have some toned legs/hips/stomach and etc, you'd be athletic
If you have a little to some extra fat on all of them, with no general tone you'd be average.
If you have more fat, and a protruding stomach, thick legs and calfs and fatty tissue under the neck( not theamount ever person has) you're a big girl.
BBW you're just fat all over, but may have a cute face!
But opinions are all subjective, I like fitness, so I'm going at this from that standpoint. Getting increasingly annoyed seeing people as average that aren't, maybe by America's standards, but on a first world country scale, they're not average. But no one wants to admit they're fat, or scare off any potentials. So they label themselves as "athletic."
I'm probably sounding like an a-hole, but this is one of the few times I truly don't care.
But I've seen some bigger girls that are really cute in the face, none the less. I never don't respond to someone, even if I have no interest. I just look and see what I like, don't actually look at someones body type description lol. | |

What is a big girl? A big girl is a girl with some extra flab here and there or its a girl who is naturally broad and tall. I myself like big girls as much as I love petite girls. As long as a girl is not morbidly fat I don't have any problem with how they look. If they are then they should try to change that... Not for me or any other guy, but for health reasons.
Ok let my give examples. Queen Latifaha before she lost that weight was a big girl ((She still is very tall and broad so I guess she still is a big girl to a lesser degree.)) I always thought she was sexy and that she still is. Don't worry about guys who don't like big girls... There are plenty of us who do ^_^ I know I love both and everything in between... It's your personality that is the deal breaker or not for me. | |

If you have a fat neck
If you have fat palms
If you have quite some 'jiggle' room in your arms or thighs
If your stomach sticks out even when you stand up
If you wear loose clothing up top to hide your stomach
Then I consider you a big girl. | |

"Big girl" is usually a term that is used by my mother or someone older when they want to say "fat chick" but are afraid it will make them look bad for calling someone fat.

The average human is probably Asian.
Averages don't really mean much in terms of subjective attraction.

Whose size?
It's been reported several times that sizes are different depending on the manufacturer.
Like an Eddie Bauer size 12 is the same as a Victorias secret size 15 which is the same as a JCPenney size 10.
So saying "size 12" really means nothing except to the fashion industry. | |

If a woman is big but she has curves, she as well as anyone who knows her will describe her as "curvy" or "voluptuous" since curvy/voluptuous is a desireable body type to have and not to be mistaken with "big" which is purposely a generic term used to be polite. | |
