| | Favorite Guilty PleasurePage 1 of 4 (1, 2, 3, 4) | | Okay...I was just posting my current status to another profile page...and it got me to thinking about the little things we indulge in that are quite satisfying....it could be anything from a favorite fattening food to your wildest fantasy fulfilled. T he things that are unique to you...when I'm feeling comfortable...happy in my own skin...I bake everything from chocolate chip cookies, to foccia, cakes, pies, callah bread...etc. I can get a little creative too...so that been said; what is it that you do/get into when you're in that comfort zone? | |

| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/19/2012 9:21:11 AM | theres a goodie i remember from my childhood called "snowballs"... its basically that marshmellow fluff crap coated with a thin layer of chocolate and rolled in coconut...it probably has a negative nutritional value but it seems to satisfy a craving once in a while | |
|
| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/19/2012 11:27:54 AM | Cheesecake. Ice cream and gelato. Crab cakes or homemade fritters. Beer battered walleye. Fried chicken.
No real guilt these days though, I work out enough lately....
|
| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/19/2012 7:35:09 PM | I can take as long as maybe 2 hours or more eating 50 York Pieces ... which are chocolate peppermint M&Ms ... 50 of them have 170 calories, 70 calories of which are fat so I'm assuming the other 100 calories are probably sugar ... it's the equivalent to maybe a peach with butter! but much more satisfying ...
sometimes when I'm feeling especially decadent, I make myself ONE biscuit with a little added sugar and nutmeg ... then put sliced strawberries or peaches or blueberries or blackberries over it ... so ... fruit shortcake! yum ...
my favorite guilty pleasures nowadays apparently includes fat and sugar ... both bad stuff ... hence, the "guilty" part!
|
| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/19/2012 8:05:16 PM | mine would be fried chicken, mashed potatoes and homemade chicken gravy.
I don't do it often......but when I do........I remember just how great a gravy I make and completely pig out!!
|
| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/20/2012 10:46:03 AM | I work in an organic grocery store (though not EVERYthing is organic). I shop there (of course) all the time so the bulk of my diet is healthy.
But............every now and then........kind of like right now after reading this thread.........I have to go to a "normal" store to buy Kraft Mac-n-Cheese. Sometimes it's the only thing that will do!! :)
|
| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/20/2012 3:31:42 PM | | Potato skins baked in the oven with a little butter to crisp them up. Top with crispy bacon pieces and cheese... cook til bubbly. Serve with sour cream, guac and salsa. Omg!!!! Haven't had this in eons!! My guy is off overseas for 2.5 weeks on Monday... I MUST indulge while he is away :D | |

| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/20/2012 7:11:51 PM | | Honestly, there are a lot of things, and it depends on my mood, if I want sweet or savory for example. Right now I am thinking that heaven would be really good bread with a great crust and a liberal coating of good butter. One of the "nicer" grocery stores in the area has a wonderful bakery and enhances this by having the added decadence of French and Irish butter. Yowza | |

| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/20/2012 9:01:21 PM | yep, It's crusty hearth baked bread for me too!
it's my fave and guilt keeps me from eating too much.
|
| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/21/2012 11:03:25 PM | I like to make egg&milk pudding as my comfort food. :) It's basically just a mixture of an equal part of egg and milk, and sugar, then steamed to solidify; the texture is surprisingly creamy which I like. Normally I don't like sugary food, but it's nice to have once in a blue moon :) | |
|
| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/22/2012 12:14:11 PM | Brownies with thick, fudge frosting. Fried potatoes. Fried mushrooms. Fried practically anything, lol.
And potato chips. I rarely keep them in the house, because I don't have that gene that tells you to eat a few and then stop. I want to keep going and going and going.....soon half the bag is gone. And that's a conservative estimate.

| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/23/2012 10:36:17 PM | The whole giving up caffeine completely bit I'm going through is really screwing me up. My current guilty pleasure is vanilla greek yogurt with frozen fruits and ants in a log (peanut butter, raisins on celery).... lots of them.
It used to be sugar laden baked goods.

| Favorite Guilty Pleasure Posted: 7/24/2012 8:25:47 AM | Good Luck........18 years of caffeine free here. I was never a big chocolate eater.....so that part didn't bother me. But there are mornings still now I truly wish for a blast of caffeine!! | |
