I thought the idea was to display an image and then if we are interested we maybe check out their profile then decide if we might want to meet them.
When there is no image and no other details it is a bit like showing spam, no real desire to investigate further! | |

It's only useless to those people who don't want to interact to users with no images.
While I doubt it's the majority, there are lots of people who are happy to message users with no, or private, images. | |

A better way would be to display some sort of information from the profile as well as the image, then if there is no image, there is still something on the page! | |

While I have NEVER seen a “MEET ME” without a photograph, If there is no photo then like OP stated… why post it on the “Meet Me” option? The only information on the “Meet Me” page is the persons photo(s), their headline, age, seeking status (example “FSM for Dating), and city along with a VIEW PROFILE link.
Without the photo(s) why not just post a text list of people , their age and city??? Why? Because who would go through that list? It seems to me like this is an option to be able to quickly scan photos without reading any information about the person. Then, like OP stated, go to the profile and see if you are interested and click the appropriate “Yes”, “Maybe” or “No”.
So, just because I have never seen any without photos doesn’t mean that the OP hasn’t either. There have been a lot of glitches on this site both global and individual user. My suggestion would be to just ignore the ones without a photo and move on to the next one.
While I still use this feature there are a ton of better ways the administrators of this site could set up and use the feature. But then that is discussed in other threads. | |

Maybe its a glitch as they are supposed to have one I am pretty sure or maybe it counts if they at least have private pics. Either way I have never seen it one time, so I cant believe its any huge problem. Just click NO. Problem solved since you dont want to "investigate." You guys are crying over clicking one NO button on a very small number of profiles. Sheeesh.

Posted: 7/19/2012 9:18:29 PM | The problem with clicking on no because there is no photo and not enough info to investigate further, is that what if the user with that profile decides to upload a photo, and it ends up being the extra nudge that makes you investigate further!
Also, ignoring it, will not work, because you are not able to get past this until you decide to click on one of the options, or at least for me, if I go to some other part of the site, then return or even log off and return the next day, the same empty page is being displayed! | |

I do not put my photo on POF because THEY OWN YOUR PIC FOREVER! Have you ever seen pics with a small "PLENTY OF FISH" trademark on the side of the picture? I would like to be in more control of what I can do with my pics, and they won't let me, so I don't.
But understand this: I am a professional person (a doctor) and I'm afraid of my colleagues or a former patient of mine seeing me on this site. If we DO start chatting and I like the person, I will tell them that I WILL BE GLAD to send pics of me to their own personal email address (NOT POF). This has worked well for me.
Please also understand that the ratio between men and women on this site is 4:1. I get PLENTY of emails WITHOUT A PIC. Also realize that it's a woman's world on this site.........if I like you, and you want to see me, I'll send you a photo. If I DON'T like you, I'll just move on, no photo sent. Now I'm safe.
The "MEET ME" is strange. So I just want to meet you based on a pic? If I really like someone's pic, I will look at their profile, but you don't want to take the time to read the profile.........so that's a definate NO for me!
See, you gotta really like me.....not love me, not marry me.........you gotta like the real person I am. And I promise you that you will NOT be disappointed with any of my pictures. I was a former model, if that helps......just a bit older now......but still nice looking, not overweight, blue eyes, long hair.

Darlin you can upload a pic here and mark it as "private". It does not ever display on your profile.
You may attach it to any messages you send. Problem solved without all the rants and drama.
Your pics here are hidden. You can choose to attach a pic when you are ready to who ever you wish. Gee doesnt that sound like what you do now without involving your private email addy???

Posted: 7/20/2012 6:34:10 PM | The one and only reason that they put a watermark on an image is so that another web site can not easily steal it and use it on their web site! So, yes it is an ownership thing, but not an ownership from the user.
I do occasionally send messages to users that do not have photos, based on their profile, so this post was simply stating that the empty meet me feature is kind of redundant! | |

I would still vote no. this is not some HUGE problem as I said. I have never once see this happen I cant believe this is some HUGE problem for ya.

I understand that the young poster above me says that this is so other dating sites can't use them, but it is so easy to "copy" and "paste" and if you are good at Photoshop or Instagram you could possibly erase it. But I wouldn't chance it. Probably all the hot chicks own their own copyrights to their pics. I have seen this written on a few men's profiles.......All content is stricly mine.
And Cowboy, if you won't even read my profile and instigate a chat or even a phone call, then I'm better off being "invisible". LOL

Look you said you were sharing your pics. You just do it via private email. If you are keeping your pics PRIVATE here then they dont display. You are attaching them ONLY to those same guys you are sharing them with via private email anyway remember. Not sure how you think one is better then the other. The exact same guys would be seeing them just here is easier. I could care less what you do but its silly to think one method protects you more then another when the exact same people are getting the pics.

The watermark thing is to try to stop other web sites from linking directly to images on this site. With thousands of images, the other web sites may be able to just copy and edit, but its unlikely they would do it for a large quantity of images! | |

I have a few women on my meet me list that don't have photos. I treat it just the same as finding profiles without photos when I do searches. I may or may not look at them, but I don't think it's an issue that needs to be "fixed". | |
