| | Why are so many profiles empty shells?Page 1 of 1 | | Maybe it's just the guys in my area/age range, but the majority of them say exactly the same frackin' thing with no substance. Guys complain all the time that women don't send messages, but when all you've got in your profile is "I like the outdoors, enjoy life, laughter, etc. I'm looking for someone with the same interests" there really isn't much to prompt a message. Worse are the ones that just say, if you're interested, send me a message, I'll answer any question, etc. What do you want us to ask you about if you've provided zero information to start with? | |

I work in sales, so it comes naturally to me, but I think the mistake many men make, is assuming most women won't read their profiles.
I've had women message me even as me not being their visual type, as they were sold by my profile.
I have always been told my profile stands out big time, but the reality is everyone's profile could, if you put effort into it.
I mean, my initial profile was bland, but once I injected my full personality into it, I started getting a lot of messages.
I don't know. It makes you come across as lazy or boring to talk to otherwise. | |

(Dull Boring Person Filter) This helps keep you from finding yourself exchanging messages with morons or heaven forbid, ending up stuck sitting across from one of them at dinner.
The average guys profile here goes like this "I love hunting, fishing, football, beer, Nascar, my dog and BIG BOOBS (not in that exact order though).".
They are pathetic but I have a news flash for ya. The womens profiles are not one bit better! Here is a womans profile on here...
" I love my family, reading, shopping (especially for shoes) my cat, music except for rap and candlelight dinners, bubble baths and long walks on the beach. For a first date I would like a nice dinner some place quiet we can talk".
Not much better are they? The ones that make me want to stick a pencil in my eye are these
" Gee I hate writing about myself and if I write a lot here we wont have anything to talk about. So if you have any questions JUST WRITE ME". And of course they list no interests also. I mean WTF are these morons thinking???? I love to just write them and ask them random questions like
What religion do you think most wolverines embrace?
How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?
Have you ever got your head stuck inside a dill pickle jar? If so how did you get it out?
Did you realize whipped cream can be used as a lubricant?
You people would be shocked how many friggin reply too.

Women on the other hand can make or break you.
If a guy is semi attractive and has nothing in his profile, the woman might pass him bye.
A guy has to to be pretty attractive to get away with blank profiles in my opinion. | |

What it boils down to, is what we believe that we offer and how we can convince others that we are worthy of their attention.......and I for one......have no doubt that your pictures will be the driving force for attention, and your substance will be the driving force for retention!!

Bad grammar is my number one pet peeve, but this is my second. Those profiles may get a lot of messages based on the woman's looks, but I bet the quality of those messages (and the people writing them) is very low. | |

Ya know what is highly ironic though...I greatly enjoy reading a lot of women's profiles I look at for fun from the forums. I am hetero; I just enjoy seeing what my peers are up to and what they have to say about everything. The sharp, witty, fed-up-with-crap ones are the best. | |

And women do this too.
If had a dollar for every time I got asked what I do for work, where I live, or what are some of my interests... Well I'd have a few dollars.
If they were trying to find a topic for starting a conversation, then they could ask what it's like, or why it interests me... But they don't. They blatantly have no idea because they didn't read it anyway. | |
