Wanting Christian Grey.....Page 1 of 8    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)
Seriously confused as to why anyone would want a man that does what he does in the book.
Ive not read it but ive been told by a mate who's reading it as he reckons it will enlighten him to the womans physche and all im going to say for those that are or have read it "chapter 8" wtf women??

if any women would like to clarify what it is you actually want as far as a christian grey please tell me because to my understanding at this moment in time the book is a cross between 18th century values where women knew there place in the world and what i seen on 90's tv drama Band Of Gold haha...

I haven't read the book yet, but like you, I have heard so much about it. He doesn't seem like my kind of guy.
I will have to read it I guess, just so I can form a proper opinion.

from what i can gather he has this girl sign a contract in which she's to abide by and some of the things are just weird. I seriously doubt any modern man would get away with doing such things

I was thinking of Lady Chatterley's Lover, but give me Mr. Darcy anytime. (I'm not keen on muddy hands). :)

It's a bizarre bandwagon and a bit of a lottery win for the author I think.

He's a man with issues so not for me, I have enough of my own. Who doesn't like a smack in the mouth while getting rogered though eh? bit of roughy sex is ok no?
I wish I could remember the name of the book it has similarities with, written 100 odd years ago.

I have read all 3 and i was dissapointed in them,
The sex part is all a bit mundane to be honest, but the story is more about him as a person, what keeps you reading is trying to understand why he is as he is, why he wants to be a dominant party in the bedroom and in life itself, the fact that the main female character refuses to be what he wants but to experience sex but with her own boundaries not his, and how he learns trust and love and ultimately lose control over himself as a person is more the story rather than the contract of what he wanted.
I am struggling more with the mental image that the majority of women seem to have conjured up of him, many seeing him as dark, and sultry, but the ' copper hues in his hair' tells me the character is supposed to be ginger! lol
Personally i wouldn't want a Mr Grey, i don't have the energy to deal with a guy with so many hangups.

Haha I put where Mr Grey as my headline. I see it everywhere. As for being like him, dunno. I haven't read the book and don't plan to. I'll never be someone that isn't me, just to impress someone. I'll be myself and to hell what anyone else thinks I should be :)

I havent read it nor do I have any inclination to read it either ...

But I think the tides are turning from what a woman wants from a man ( or maybe they have always been this way ? )... from what I understand from my frinds that have read it, forgetting about his personal issues for a moment. Most women I know still would like a manly man who in charge without being a bully... a cross between John Wayne , Rhett Butler and Bruce Willis fighting for his woman in Die hard , ....oh and ending with the scene from Yanks where Richard Gere strides into her workplace and carries her off into the sunset ....

Swoon.... yep a manly man that is in control but not a control freak

The thing is he only exists in the mind of most women.............Houston I think we have a problem !

ive read the book i find it repeats itself sex at ever opportunity, there are loads of books on top shelf at motor service stations based on fetish type sex and practice, i think fifty shades just got into main stream media and got accepted, no doubt in a few months car boots and charity shops will have loads on sale, after the hype dies down. also i note a lot comment and not read it

Christian Grey sounds like the most boring colour on the Dulux colour chart.

Someone mentioned Jordan earlier ............... maybe if you add a splash of Katie Price (aka Tango Orange) it might work.

No, it's not for me thanks.

i havent read these books but i bought them for my daughter... she was quite engrossed but i think she got a bit bored after a while.. i dunno if she finished them..

from what i gathered from her, i would be horrified if i ever met this bloke and would be telling him to feck right off if he ever came near to me or mine... if thats your thing, fine, but to lead an innocent into that lifestyle is not right in my book... and i dont give a shyte about the underpinning romance that apparently holds it all together... in my opinion, mr grey cannot be a nice person and certainly not somone i would want to meet... except for his money of course... ;-0

I think these women who state they are looking for Mr Grey have zero imagination, are unable to define what they are looking for so they attach their 'needs' to some fantasy character who happens to be flavor of the month.

Very boring indeed. How many women would get in contact with a bloke who stated 'looking for a woman with Kelly Brooks tits' on his profile? Yawn......

Most women don't know what they want, never have never will. Sadly a certain amount of them are stunningly dim and will follow the herd just to feel part of something they can have a good ol' chin wag about afterwards. Fifty shades, Ann Summers, Celebrity gossip/culture, Soap operas..... the list of coma inducing dross is literally endless.......but they fecking love it.

This Christian Grey nonsense has taken it to a new level, not only is it a classic case of herding it also flies in the face of one hundred years of feminism...nothing like saying bollox to your principles for a poorly written porno that has the cheek to try to romanticise an abusive/controlling relationship.

So what if he treats her badly? he's got "issues" and she's managed to turn him around yay!....thankfully back in the real world anyone in that sort of abusive realtionship would be told to get out of it.......and probably by the very same people who can't put the book down.

Women, you've gotta love em.

I, for one, am not interested in reading any of these books. I have heard enough about them and I don't like what I have heard. If any of these women think it is OK to be mentally and physically abused by some control freak with issues, then so be it. If they had been in a relationship like that in real life, it would be a different story.

It's pathetic listening to a gaggle of women going on about these books. Jeez. Why don't they get a life and try something different with their partner.
