Friends with benefits are as confusing as hell. Do the benefits stop when one friend starts dating? I'm against.

Well when your single, a friend with benifits is a nice thing. The problem is when somthing happens between you and you are not friends after. I sucks losing a good friend as much as losing a girlfriend.
I went through this not long ago and I still miss my friend.
I dont recomend it unless yoour prepared for any posible outcome.
My situation was a little complicated and wont get into details, but I miss her friendship more than the benifits.

This question comes up a lot! And there is a very good reason for it!
Friends with benefits! Well, overall from what I can gather, if you can keep all things in perspective, then it works very well. Problem is, most times things don't stay or play out the way you think you can handle them. Tis all well and fine to have a friend with benefits. If you can keep it there! I thought I was one that could handle just that! However, I don't appear to be able to be intimate with someone without caring about him as a person? So then, as time progressed, things changed. I guess for me to be able to have a benefits buddy, I would really not give a darn about him or his feelings, just use him for my own gratification. Then, that leads me to believe I don't respect him. In which case, what is the point? I am sure there are lots of folks who will disagree with me, but hey, just my take on it tis all!
Would be interesting to see others posts on this issue!

I'm against it after some experience,, it just seems as hard as you try, someone always ends up with some feelings for the other.. it just DOESN'T work..

i think friends with benefits can work as long as both ppl know its purely sexual, i think it takes the right ppl with the right attitude to make it work

Just what the hell is an "old fart" anyway ? Like do they linger around in yur undies for a long time and fester? Do they smell worse than a young fart ? Are they noisier ? Can you actually see them? Someone please enlighten me

Hey Bootsie!
lol I always wondered that as well. My take on it is this:
Old Fart, somethin that has lingered back in the twilite zone, and not moved on with the program? lol
We can chat about this some more later tonite? lol

It could work if a person can separate sex from emotion. I don't want to appear bias, but I think that is biologically easier for males than females. I can't speak for all females but I know if there is no strong emotion, there is no sex. I just can't perform unless I got that loving feeling going on.

Well I do not have one special friend and I ain't getting one either. I love sex, but it has to have an emotional tie to it first. Otherwise he don't turn my crank at all. Much rather have a guy to just converse with. Some fellas make great buddies and are real fun to hang out with. When you add in sex, the relationshiop changes. JMHO

Right on Ruby. Sex adds a whole new dimension to a relationship. Just can't do it for the sake of doing it. Of course this is coming from a woman who owns a pocket rocket and doesn't leave home without it.

I was lucky enough to have a friend with benefits.

Luckily we remain friends to this day. She met someone and I am happy for her.

We made an agreement that if it was going to affect the friendship, then nothing would happen.

I would prefer a relationship, but being with someone you like physically does have its good points. Okay, great points.

I guess my problem was that we started out as friends and it grew from there, then it went bad. We both had feelings for each other deeper than just friends and I miss just hanging out with her. Always had a good time together with out the sex.
hopfully one day we can put our differences aside and be friends again.

Hey Drag!
I know where you are coming from! I hope for your sake you both can patch things up! Maybe just give her a litttle time! Somehow with time, things look different! All the best!
