Posted: 8/10/2005 12:50:04 PM | This site trumps lava in my opinion. Since joining PoF after lurking on the forums for a while I haven't even checked my lava profile. Cool things -
a) it is free for IMing and emailing ( lava soon gets pricey), although that does mean some 'lower quality' IM approaches. Conversely, since an email is free, no bad feelings at no reply
b) lava doesn't (or didn't ) let you have the option of attaching photos to emails that are not publicly viewed ( this is a great feature)
c) the forums add hugely to the entertainment, far more fun than the actual 'dating' part
d) I think this site has more powerful filtering tools on profiles
I tend to mention this site to friends far more than lava, although it doesn't have the recognition factor amongst the public that lava has. I've noticed a lot of local folks make the move from lava recently too.

IMHO, POF rocks compared to other sites - the IM gets a little intrusive - but the forums are my daily required reading!!!! Bring up the POF parties a notch and I think you've got yourself a world-wide sensation. | |

The quality of the people on POF is superior to LL... and the major added bonus.. this site is FREE! The forums however, is what convinced me to stay with POF and cancel memberships elsewhere.
There is no comparison. This site rocks.
(I did like however on LL that you could see how many hits you got on your profile ... how many people were looking at you and what not.. I thought that was a great feature.... but that's just me). | |

Campuskiss is another one but it's mainly just college kids. POF seems to be more of a social place not just your typical dating site.

The people here are fantastic. I was new to my area and in a very short time I have met hundreds of people (at POF parties) and wouldnt give up those friendships for anything. All walks of life are here and that's fantastic. I have friends of all ages, race, culture, etc...
Im here to stay....
Now lets get another party going, lol...
